Default Oil in Car Seats....

Ok, I have a dilemma

I was using a mates car to transport my 1.8 Zetec Engine (to be fitted to the MK1 Fiesta). All seemed to be well until I came to take the engine out....

Inevitably a fair bit of engine oil had dripped out of the engine and onto the boot carpet. The oil had filled in the bottom of the car so I cleaned it out well with fairy liquid and the likes.

The boot carpet however is beyond saving, the smell is unbearable, so I have chucked it.

The smell had died down a lot since this happened, just over a week ago, until yesterday when I noticed it again. I have since sourced the smell, a bit of oil has SOAKED INTO the rear seats....

What is the best way to go about cleaning these? When I squeeze the seats, oil appear

Any help appreciated!

I can only really see you cleaning the surface unless you use lots and lots of soap and water and run it through the foam.

What car is it? Might just be best to replace the rear bench.

Rover 25 mate. I have bought a new carpet for it, may as well buy a new seat too

May as well if you can get a second hand one cheap enough, the old one would take ages to properly clean, then you might never get rid of the smell!

A rover 25? The best way of cleaning the seats in these is to crush the whole car.

How's things Glenn?

What should I do with the brake cleaner? Just pour on and drop a match on it?
