I do it all the time buy it then stash it in the garage I rent so there is no way of her seeing it then drop it into a conversation a few weeks later then deal with the fall out which can last between a couple of days or a few weeks.

Haha, some of these stories are brilliant... to be honest, if I earn enough money to cover the bills I need to cover, stick away what I have planned to stick away in savings and have some left over at the end of the month.. then I'll spend it on whatever I want to!!
The only time I can sympathise with a woman boiling out over that is if the money was ear marked for something else.
Cheers,
Grant

Not bought a car and not said but when I couldn't answer my phone the other day as I was in a shop I had my cousin whow as with me call her back. He said I was buying a new car. She didn't even bat an eye lid when I got home and I owned up a while later
As it happens I've bought a bloody expensive watch today and I haven't owned up yet

Fuck's sake, some of you pansies want to grow a pair!
Does crack me up when blokes aren't allowed to do what they want. My brother in law suffers from this terrible shrunken nuts syndrome. He's allowed fuck all. Even if he wanted an ipod or something he'll start of very gently by looking on the net (in view of my sister) then he may buy a magazine with reviews and then start to get her used to the idea he wants to buy 'them' an ipod. Eventually he'll either be told blunt, no! Or if she likes the idea he'll be allowed to search the internet for the cheapest possible deal and usually rings me to see if I've got one 2nd hand first. After many months of pissing around he'll make a purchase!
He wanted a citroen saxo VTS many years ago (when they were current) wanted a new one, he had a good job etc. My sister liked the idea of them gettig a new car but only allowed him to buy some gay variant, saxo Furio iirc. Wasn't even allowed to spec alloys
I lived with them for a while (between houses) and he hated me.. I'd usually get him pickled with a few jars and we'd have a laugh, then my sister would come home.. She'd be annoyed at him for not preparing their dinner ration and tyen I'd say someing like "about time you redecorated the bathroom Trev". My sister would then be like "yeah, good idea. You can start this weekend" the amount of DIY i instigated was amazing.
I'd imagine some low life applied for the logbook years ago

Been there done that, been caught out a few times, usually just leads to a huff and a shoulder shrug.
Gods honest truth this, seriously weird situation.
I bought a car years ago and parked it up and forgot about it,from what I can remember it's either a golf or an astra, straight up I don't know what it is,I took it as part of a deal and had so many cars the missus would have flipped so I parked it and left it,somewhere in Swansea!!!
To this day I have no idea where it is or what happened to it,it was back in the days before sorn etc so you could leave cars wherever and just come back to them as long as they weren't getting in peoples way etc.
It was through a mate of a mate type of thing and I remember it being a complete bucket,I dropped it up his yard and just never went back.I couldn't get to the yard again if I tried!!no doubt it was scrapped years ago but a very spooky moment!!!

A guy I know used to regulary drive to his Mrs work, go in, get the keys for the car off her and hand her the keys to the new car and tell her where it was parked outside and what it was obviously! I'd never get away with that!

lol my missis gets told! once the morgage and my share of the bills are payed she happy ( we as happy as women get)
Got a double garage and a double driveway,
double garage had my s2 and mini race car in,
then my mate rings me saying he knows of a grey s2 going cheap,
ended up on my side of the drive then she would moan when i had to park across the drive in my connect lol
If my missis said i couldnt have somthing it would make me want to buy it anyway

just last week, she almosts expects it from me,but shes off work on maternity leave, were having work done in and around the house and going to new york in june so i knew she would moan about how much i spent on it.
i just waited till she was out 1 day and went and picked it up,when i got back i made a joke about being away to buy a car,she then asked how i got home and i told her i had bought it.she was ok which i was a bit surprised at.
i was even more surprised when she came home the next day and noticed the old cossie shell in the dogs bit of the garden outside the kitchen window and didnt go mental.i didnt get a chance to tilt the blinds before she got home.
best bit is she believes the new sierra only cost me £350

Picked the wife up from work with this 5 years ago, when she asked what I was doing with "that old wreck" tolds her it was to do something with for the owners club. Five years later it is an out and out sprint and hillclimb car and no modification has cost more than 50 quid, or so she thinks.

A few times.
I bought a V8 westfield whilst still living at home with parents. Already had 2 cars and thought mum would go ballistic. I stored it at a friends and used to go there to take it for a spin. After about 6 months not getting caught, I had to move it, like pretty quick. I drove it home in the snow, no weather gear. Mum saw me at the door soaked to my skin at which point she saw it. Oh bu@@er!
Years later bought a 2 litre 16v mini as an unfinished project. Got it finished and brought it home. Wife not impressed at all. To placate her I told her it was £1500. She coped OK until a friend inadvertantly told her I paid £3500 as an unn finished project but it was Ok as I had only spent a couple of K finishing it.
I was in the sh@t. Try wiggling out of that when your missus is a barrister.

FIRST car went to the mart with dad and were under STRICT instructions nont to buy anything we were just to look... that didnt happen we arrived home +1 fiesta
Second car i went to dundee to look at it on the monday night, told mum and my girlfriend i was going out with dean, decided ti looked good went down on thursday got to the bank and got told i couldnt have my £500squid because they had fucked my book up and needed to get in contact with the account opener which in turn was my mum..... so one phonecall from the bank and the wonman said "she sounds quite annoyed after i told her your bought a car" and once i got home with it there was major problemos and the plan to stash it in the shed at the farm was redundant +2 fiesta

YES. I picked this up on Saturday and made a 500 mile round trip for it.
Told her I was working my regular Saturday 9 - 5:30 day so had to leave Mine at 5:30am on Saturday to be back in time, then got back to Hereford and went on the piss with her Saturday night then she was calling me a lightweight all day yesterday as I kept falling asleep in the garden  if only she knew the truth.....which hopefully she never will. I'll sneek off a few week nights and days off to build it up then tell her I bought it for an absolute bargain.

i like threads like this,
when i went to buy the old van i didnt tell her but needed her to drive so told her "we're up at 3 to go out" right she said.
as we pull up outside CSM's house (after 220 miles) she says your not buying that!
tough, so it came home with me
i cant complain though as she came home with a chevy pick-up about 2 months later

If in Doubt Flat Out...
Mate bought a Ducati desmosedici for £40k and told the wife it cost him £7k. She met one of his mates down the street and was chatting with him and he asked her how he let him buy a £40k motorbike dropping him right in it! She went home and book a 5k Holiday for her and some mates.
