I read elsewhere that fords supply small circle repair pieces of wrap to stick over the damaged part if you get a stone chip/small tear? is this correct as it sounds like a right bodge and terrible idea ![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)

Or dear.You got a similar thing with toyotas.There was different sizes of strips of sticky on paint patches in case you got a stone chip you put the sticker on the top of the chip.

That sounds tacky,wont it be easy enough to recover the whole of the damaged panel?

It is true, and a terrible idea.
You can get a clear film, which is the same as having a wrap, just clear. This will protect paint, and a wrapped cast vinyl from stone chips etc.
