My NEW turbo......
T61
All sorted........maybe wrong but apparently the one with the best compressor map.....WONT make 700bhp on pump fuel...650 looking good...680 race fuel looking good.
Sorry to dissapoint anyone...a lot of research has led me to this.....its better power than a GT35 but not as good as the GT40.

Chip....i dont know what you mean...for the price i couldnt refuse...i got accounts with the major turbo dealers too...and this was the best deal...i been looking at turbo's for about 3 weeks..and this suits my build best imo.....loosing 20/30bhp off the target may make the engine last 2 minutes longer

Never seen a T35 rated to over 900bhp Before Ade
To get an indictation of how big it is, the compressor OUTLET is 3inches! Ie the same bore as a Cossie exhaust

Mike, few things.
1- as if hes ever looked at any of them.
2- that turbo is a Turbonetics T61, its BB (hence the gold backplate), but is it the "Super" one (cant remember if they make the super verions that small), as they are far more efficient than the std one but ive never seen specific compressor maps for any "super" versions if it is one...

No Steve i just guessing on this engine
Alot of money is going into this and i think its gonna surprise a few people........
I done alot of research into turbos after seeing this T61 for sale a while ago...i studied the T66/T70 the GT35R the GT40 and GT42 aswell and for my conversion IMO this is the best turbo for what i want to acheive.

Karl- best i could come up with after 2mins on Google, when i have no infomation to go on how am i meant to know the exact ones hes on about.
Phil- So a T61 is better than any of the others for that power? From what i understand the Turbonetics T series (the non super ones especially) arnt exactly the pinnacle of technology...

No steve not for power...but for my engine design and aims whilst having a fair powerband...bigger comp wheel than a GT35 but not as big as the GT40....so 700bhp is out but 650 probable
One that will enable over 192.6 down Brunters
Philip,
What type of exhaust manifold, wastegate and boost control do you intend to use with this little number?

Steve for me to acheive 700bhp on pump fuel would require a turbo that didnt spin up until about 5500rpm to 6000rpm and that is not quite acceptable....i am hoping on this turbo T61 for a 5000rpm full boost at the max....but i could be wrong...dont know till i try it...all i know is hold onto your insides when this bitch hits 2.5bar
