There's 4wd version around somewhere using Kuga stuff, think Wolf did it.

Did Ford use forged pistons in the RS?

Yes the liners can crack on standard cars, these seemed to be on 57 plate cars - Poss bad batch of engines. I had mine at 300bhp on the code:red maps and 4 years 50k not a single problem.

It would appear that people are pushing the limits even more now as the ST gets older, A very good mate of mine has his 2006 car running Jamsports stage 4 package...

Power is expected to be about 370 Jamie did map the car and its very smooth unlike
other maps that are quite aggressive from the off.

Will it Crack a liner? .. hmmm not to sure, its early days and the second one I know of that has been done by Jamsport and so far so good, He loves it I have yet to have a go.
With all the RS engines on ebay, it may be cheaper to get one of those and drop it into the ST unless you have the post 2008 cars that seem to be running the same blocks as the RS.

the car was originally a mk2 syncro with "chocholat" 4x4 system, the rear beam was converted to take the haldex diff, propshaft custom made for the car, the gearbox mounts were fabricated, a cable shift was put in along with hydraulic clutch, front driveshafts were made and back shafts are original. the engine is a 2.8 24 valve golf 4 motion engine with t34 turbo for good measure! mechanicaly it is 4x4, electronically, my mate is stil looking for a drive solution for the controller in the diff that wont cost the earth.

So far I only have cat back and decat, Decat made quite a difference.

My Austospecialist Cais will be delivered tommorow and my downpipe was ordered yesterday.

I will be going on saturday to buy my Gen 3 intercooler so that will be my stage 3 stuff other than map.

Then off to Jamsport first week in march for Rs injectors and remap.

Then Rs clutch and Quaife lsd...

Then sitech/jamsport inlet.

Then Bigger turbo/poss RS.

then new block lol and more power.

want to get it to by march

Mongoose Downpipe
Mongoose Decat
Mongoose Catback
Rs injectors
Rs Plugs
Autospecialist Cais
Autospecialist Gen 3 cooler
Custom Map By Jamsport.

Then by april

RS clutch
Quaife LSD
Inlet.

Then by the real show season Rs turbo and about 370bhp.

as well as lots of other little mods on the way.

Nothing on outside though, Other than lowering springs as I want it a bit of a family sleeper sort of thing.

I have the same problem not allot of option for the ST motor the biggest problem is the software, no one has really developed anything over 400hp on the motor

Here in South Africa you can get the RS conversion done at about R35 000 but that is about the max that anyone can do to the motor

The fastets ST runs 13sec 1/4 mile

I am now looking any selling my ST motor gearbox and fitting a 5oo-650hp cosworth engin with rwd setup

Problem is no one is South Africa has ever done a conversion like this on a Focus ST225

checkout my post and please HELP!!!!

I have a decat, didnt notice much difference really. Main difference I noticed was changing the panel filter!

I wont be getting a CAIS, I beleive the standard intake is fine up to 310/320 with a panel filter. (How expensive is a CAIS for the ST/RS btw!)

So far I have the filter, cat back, decat, remap and RS clutch kit. Next up is cooler and down pipe and another map should see 300 maybe a little more. (I hope)

Keep us posted on the results you get would you mate? Be good to hear how the car feels after you get these bits done

I have no idea who else to ask about this type of thing I am afraid.

I would love to see an electric orange take the fight to the big powered RS's. That would make me very wet!

Carlos did your car feel a lot different after your mods were done?

Cais is a must since i saw the testing and i think it got 18Bhp extra on a standard car in FF

300+ is very easy to drive due to it being so smooth....

when i spoke to jamsport when i had mine they told me people had problems with them due to people maxing things out .... like the standard turbo peaking at 22/23psi ect

they said fit a bigger turbo and and manifolds and injectors and get more power with less boost and it will be fine.... ive also heard that the face lift cars have the same block as the frs but with slightly higher compression

Exhaust and cat not much, filter quite a bit but the main change was the remap, WOW! But spun the clutch so had to get the RS kit in. Still have the old clutch kit and looks hardly worn

The remap was the best! Made a massive change and get about 50 mile a tank more (when not booting it)

18 bhp on a standard car!? Bloody hell! Might get one or make my own with some piping and silicone hose bends.

all what I have been told Mark and all seems very realistic...

A lot of the people that keep banging on about cracked liners have just used handsets on highest setting with non rs injectors and standard inlets then moaned when something broke.

If after the turbo upgrade and inlet the block cracks I will talk with them about strengthening or an RS block etc etc.

If something breaks make it better lol, That must have been what people did when modifying others.

I like the idea that there isnt many other people out there trying to get bigger power.

Thats what the Fast ford shoot was all about testing all the filter kits.

Unless im mistaken as was the best for the cash and it was 18bhp more.

Ive bought it now anyway so don't have a choice LMAO!

Might need to ring for a back issue on that test. Auto specialists is the best priced unit i have seen.

I need to put my old clutch kit on ebay. Even the old DMF is fine.

look in this months there is an add in there for autospecialists induction kit....

its fitted to airtechs 400bhp frs test car/ kempys 450bhp frs and jamsports 460bhp frs so im sure its well upto the job as even the standard frs one becomes very restrictive at 380bhp

lol i would have thought you need to run the frs turbo to use the frs cias ...

my mate is having his turbo rebuilt to hybrid and one of them fitted to his frs and has been told it should be 470/480bhp , its all done by jamsport and i recommend them to everyone with new fords, as my mates frs its a proper weapon at 440bhp now...

they also have a frs that is well over 500bhp at the mo and should soon be nearly 600bhp lol

That mag test didnt include any Dreamscience kit and these have been proven to give the biggest gains. The DSCI induction kit is an awesome bit of kit.

As for 400bhp - I am working towards that in my ST as loads of people dont think its achievable.

Reading the comments on the ST vs. RS debate - the ST is 130kg lighter than the RS and mine has been stripped out further so is 230kg lighter than an RS - this makes quite abit of difference. Mine is getting the Quaife ATB added and RS clutch as slipping alot at current power level let alone 400bhp lmao

Standard turbo but am skeptical on this power level - going to try a different RR soon when new clutch is in.

Think its more like 315-325bhp

Spec is;

RS plugs
Gen 3 intercooler
DSCI Mod X map
DSCI decat
DSCI induction kit with larger filter
Magnex downpipe
Piper catback

Also only using Motul race fluids in the engine
