Not sure about L8 Spiky, but I had to have a circuit board mod' (main board) done to my P8 to enable comm's to the Pectel Monitor....... (I may be incorrectly assuming you're talking about error message on Monitor?)

Spiky the only thing you could have done wrong when putting the Pectel board in is to have plugged the bigger of the 2 plugs in wrong! If i recall correctly the plug has less prongs than a chip so you can plug it in the wrong end if you know what i mean?
This error code your getting could be anything though

ok, the way i plugged it in is
the pectel baord has 2 cables off it, i plugged the bigger of the cables to one edge, taking into account the other cable effectivly would have been plugged into the other pins..
hope that makes sense????

Ive never seen such a fault code myself so its probably something with how its hooked up? (or not hooked up )
If you check the wiring diagram you hook it up to Diagnostic Out and Dignostic In on the Dignostic connector, You can get +12V from the ABS connector if you have one? You also need earth but ive forgotten where I hooked up mine too.
Just check the pin numbers on the pectel monitor outlet connector (AMP connector) and make shure you have wired it in correctly at both ends.

I get a Communicaton Error when when the datastream in the ECU is not activated (if fitted to standard P8) or if the chip dont support it.
Perhaps you have swapped the wires around to the diagnostic out and diagnostic in? Try shifting them.
Pectel monitor outlet Pin- where to be plugged in
1 - Ground -12V (already fixed)
2 - Battery +12V (already fixed)
3 - Diagnostic In
5 - Diagnostic Out
Thats all you would need to make it run ok.

Sorry, i did not realise you had a complete loom. If its all wired up with loom it should work.
The outlets on the AMP connector (big plastic 9 pin outlet) are numbered. I wrote the pin numbers in my post above.
