Written off Mondeo
Hi all.
Just looking for a quick bit of advice, I wrote my car off earlier and I'm waiting on the insurance to get back with me in the next couple of days. What kind of settlement do you think I'll get from the insurance company.
It was a 2005/55 Mondeo 5dr Hatchback, Titanium, 2.2tdci with 60000 miles. Insurance was through Directline.
Will get pictures up when I get them.
Thanks
Stu

In my experience (2 previous cars written off) you will get glasses guide book price minus any policy excess!!!
Forget the 'value of the car' that you gave the insurance company when you took the policy out. Insurance company will pull your pants down mate!

Cheers for the replies, looked at Parkers guide and it ranged from 3700 to 5000, we paid 6800 for it in June so will keep my fingers crossed. Im gutted because we both loved the car but shit happens, it cant be helped. We were extremely lucky, we always put the dog in the boot but we couldnt be bothered taking the parcel shelf out and putting the covers and guard in so she was sitting at my girlfriends feet, the car went into the ditch backwards hard enough to cave the back end in and my seat snapped when i was forced back into it.
Cheers

Decline their first offer and they will give you a better one. My XR2i got written off and the cheeky twats offered £500 whcih I told them to stick somewhere that would make sitting down tricky. They instantly raised the offer to £900 whcih I also rejected and threatened to go to the ombudsman if they didn't come to me with a suitable revoised offer. £2700 in the end
