Default What's the stories with Paul Hills then???

hi all im a mechanic at southcoast performance and we have paul map our big power cars and they have allways been perfect and never miss a beat and ive watched him at work alot of times and in my opinion his work is staggering. none of our cars have ever had any problems or suddenly blown up he allways does a top job, and he must be good as he maps le mons cars

i was speaking to him the other day when he was mapping the 600bhp mr2 ive built and he was saying how he is not liked very much on PF so i had a little search and all ive seen is people slagging him off and not these horror stories.

people do make mistakes and were all guilty of that. ive done some stupid mistakes in my career they were always put right and didnt cost the owner any extra money, ive mainly made mistakes on my own cars though

all i can say about paul is he is proberly the most inteligent (engine wise) person ive ever met, i mean i thought i knew allot about cars but he makes me look thick sometimes

i just want to know what hes done to piss off so many people

If you did the search, then you'd have seen why he's not well regarded here mate?

A lot of his mistakes HAVE cost the owners a lot more cash from what I gather.

Cheers,
Grant

The point is he is fucking clueless, and cost a good friend of mine over 10k with his APPALING workmanship, and failed to put it right. Anything else is pointless to mention, as he is obviously too much of a cunt to admit fault and put it right... Even after all these years he should at least offer some form of apology & some financial compensation to Ian... But if he can live with the guilt & knowledge that he basiclly stole £10,000 then it just shows the type of bloke he is.

Oh, my saff "mapped" by him ( I bought it like it) was running NINE FUCKING NINE %c.o on 803 greens!! No wonder it used to light up like a bunson burner everytime you backed off, and used more oil than fuel!! It must have been borewashing like a bastard!!

Do i need to post my fuel map where my injectors were running at 120% duty cycle at 7500rpm??????

Car was so rich low down that when i took it for a pre MOT they had to put the emissions lance by the front bumper for it to be passable.
The car would foul the plugs whilst cruising at 30mph for fooks sake!!!!

Bloke is a joke

i think the skyline pic was that there was a socket left on one of the cam caps that was rattling but, due to it being held in by the rocker cover, it couldn't go anywhere

from what i can remember of the pic anyone, think porkie put it up as it was one of his mate?

may be wrong but it was a while ago

but as for the guy, never met him and can only go with whats been said here so i owuldn't be using him, but then again, i wouldn't call him a cunt if i met him at a show or the like, i couldn't tell him from joe blogs

Simply walk into another tuners with a good rep, then when you've met them and their assistants, teamakers, suppliers, Apprentices and the old guy that cleans the cars you'll have met plenty of folk that know more than Paul Hills

Absolute fucking idiot who charged people through the nose. Wouldn't take my car to him for an oil change.

Took my first Zetec turbo there to be mapped on Omex 600. Car ran like shit after 2 seperate visits there and then found he charged me over £500 for what turned out to be a fucking N/A Zetec map downloaded from the Omex website...FOR FREE.

Took the car to Stu @ MSD in the end, who was horrifed at some of the work. I.e. Sensors missing etc...

If you think Paul Hills knows a lot about cars/engines then:
A) I shudder to think what you know.
B) You clearly haven't had a chat with someone properly educated like Stu/Will/Karl/Mark etc...

Note to OP...I am the good friend Wil is referring to in his above comment....

Please beware. It is like you are saying that you would trust a reformed serial paedophile to run a youthclub. When we all know, as soon as the parents backs are turned, hes going to have his hand in their kids panties.

You are obviously clearly deluded if you think this clown is good at what he does. He isnt...he's very good at pretending to know what he does.

A little knowledge is dangerous. If you dont know anything he will appear to be a rocket scientist - a total genius to the dumb and innocent. Rockets also blow up, as did a lot of pauls engines. Mine didnt just blow up, it imploded and sucked half of gloucestershire in with it.

Anyway, thank you for informing us of his whereabouts...you have saved us all a lot of expense and grief.

Regards,

Ian

That'll be my wastegate......yes he used copper tubing to control the wastegate on a 600bhp engine.

Isnt that like a builder using bluetac to build a brick wall?

A good one......took one of my mates there to have Omex fitted and mapped. He was charged a fortune to have a map that was simply downloaded free fr0m the internet. The car had no cold/idle strategy and ran like a bag of excrement.

One of the lucky ones then. And he does seem like a nice bloke.....until something goes wrong. Then hes very unhelpful.

You have to ask yourselves why he shut down. If he really was that good, he would be thriving like Mark Shead, Andrew Gallagher or Norris Designs etc. Good tuning businesses dont fail.......

He..... on the left in the illustration is lassooing the life out of my poor £20,000-odd engine. Or is he lassooing money from my wallet into his swiss offshore bank account. Or is he just a cowboy that likes to say Yeee Haaa in an Essex field? I am not sure. But one thing is for sure, is that he talks a load of horse shit about his figures and principals. Or is it you take your race horse to him and it comes away wheezing like a mule. All puffing and fucked.
