Aluminium can be welded bud, but the thinner the material the more difficult it gets. A really skilled welder could build it up to cure the leaks, but its finding a local guy tbh. The older brass ones were much better in this respect. I've silver soldered a few up myself. Sorry I cant be of much help.

I took my ali rad to be repaired last year at a rad specilist's, £100 later and all they did was put resin around the area of the core that had gone....

Its seemed to hold up untill it went somewhere else

I had a welder try and weld it up first but as said above the parts of the core were so thin it was just blowing the hole even bigger...

iv used an alloy welding rod that would be perfect for you, just type alloy welding in on the bay and you will come across it, all you do it clean the area up with a stainless brush thats supplied and heat the area with a blowlamp or similar, i was really impressed, iv used it to add alloy brackets to my intercooler

check out utube aswell as there are vids showing how you do it

yeah, it doesnt penatrate but it is perfect for the job, if you use it properly its as good as welding aslong as it bonds to the material it doesnt need to penatrate

i agree it might be ok for a rad ,but its not as good as welding because it doesnt penatrate. would you ride a motor bike ect if the frame was that was brazed like that ?

You may find it cheaper to buy another make of after market rad like air tec than a std rad ?, unless you mean pattern std ?
Alloy fatigues, it could just move to the next weak point if repaired, feel the weight of a air tec rad, they're not thin way a bloody ton, dropped one on my nose when fitting mine when laying under car, and learnt a new language!!.
