I had one years ago (blue metallic/black stripe) loved it!!
Was a far superior package from the factory than the RS2000.
No wonder you dont see many/any nowadays, rust will have killed most of them now, metal quality was shocking.
Would like another one day, but good ones are silly money now.

moonstone, and I would have thought with that registration date it would be a series2.
I had 2 x series 1's one of which was a pre production car, and 2 x series 2's.
Wish I still had em !

Built and run a couple of sunbeams, handle very well once you sort the geometry out and they have the potential to be better than there ford counterpart...lighter shell better standard securing of the rear axle, superior front end when comapred to a mk 2 escort, we have one running a Zetec and the other with a XE, they are like alot of cars of this age making a big come back in the historic rally scene, the lotus sunbeam can be a serious contender, Joss Ronchetti certainley upsets some of the lads on the racing scene.....

a mate of mine had one in the army well it was a ti and it caught fire a few times,it spat through the carbs and went up and burnt a autobahn and he got charged for the f/b call out and the damage to the tarmac. anyway they are a cool car with comfy seats but that zf gearbox in the lotus took some getting used too,i used to wheelspin going backwards looking forwards as i used to forget it was a dog leg and infact it put me off dog legs all together.
they make the right noises though and not many people realise they are a 16 valve which for a car like mine was on a w reg it was a big thing back then.
