I dont see the point in it being a driving presenter (or ex motorsport hand who's turned to tv..) if they're only going to 'drive' - why would the beeb pay over the odds for the longer cv?

Totally true. Though they need someone that can peddle so it's going to be someone motorsport based surely.

absolutlely - the driver is a pro!

Other than shear irony there would be no point in paying a presenter (and driving pro ) to do the opposite, and hide their identity.

Yea have to agree there, he is great with his driving displays but not that hot on the rally stages , a bit like Tiff, ok going sideways on 5th gear.

The new stig is very slight in build and about 5"4

What does that tell you? I'm guessing Sabine......with guest slots from other specialists

Wikipedia!!!

"A couple of names were then considered to be the next Stig, if there was to be one, most notably Heikki Kovalainen and Anthony Davidson as the favourites, as well as former White Stig stand-in, racing driver Phil Keen"

The stig that drove the atom last week i think is Sabine Schidt was very small the stig in the proton was a bigger build i say no way was it Ken Block he didnt hit anything i would say from that driving its got Kris Meeke written all over it.

No one can surely think for one minute that it's the same driver used for the track and rally stage? That's why there's a suit!

Exactly !

I'd have money on it that whoeever was driving the Proton was not the normal Stig used on the circuit.

Chances are it was one of the Proton drivers.

I dont think its Sabine, when ever we see her drive its round a track she has been round thousands of times and not one she has never seen in her life, its not Tiff becuse he would never keep his mouth shut that long, and VBH shit her self when trying to drive a four wheeler lorry at 30 mph.

Its not a F1 driver , we have seen the performance of putting a F1 driver in a rally car, Kimmi springs to mind, could it have been Sabastian Loeb.

A trader on the MLR who is heavily involved in the rally scene has confirmed is was former PWRC champion Nial Mcshea driving the proton.
