He s the best one yet, any ideas who he is yet? He certainly seems a lot more in control than the Mk2 Stig. 10/10 for that effort, ballsy!

 

must be some sort of rally driver or rally experience? he was good on gravel and asphalt aswell

not many circuit racers can drive a rally car like that

The stig in the Rally car might not have been the circuit stig............

 

Ah fuck it... one of these for me cause I've started a thread very similar to this in the Non-Car related bit!!

His driving was absolutely brilliant tonight, Hammond definitely shat his pants towards the end of the Rally section.

Yep, and last week when 'James' supposedly drove the V8 ariel atom and then 'stig' drove it for the lap time board, the footage of steering wheel control during the drives was remarkably similar...........

EDIT: Tiff Needel, as well as being a tarmac racer, he was also an accomplished Rallycross driver...Rallycross is raciing on a closed circut of mixed surfaces, tarmac & gravel...... in 1988 & 1989 he competed in the British Rallycross championship in a Metro 6R4.

I'm not saying that I definitely know it is him, i'm just saying that there is probably high possibility of it being him......

but then again, there might not be just one stig, there maybe a few different drivers playing the role...

when james(the stig) walked out the changing room it looked like a woman figure and i think they gave us a little clue with the feet as they showed the exact same thing when she was drive the transit around the ring

sure they're using different stigs for different occasions, the one driving the proton im sure is tom cave, only someone who knows that car could drive it like that.

Thats what I thought, they could of drafted someone in just for that challenge though.

 

I thought it looked like Ken Blocks kind of driving, they were realy pushing that car to its limit, whoever it was it was a 1st class rally driver.

As above, I'd bet a lot of money that were 2 Stigs used. Makes no sense to have a rally driver doing circuit tracks a vast majority of the time etc...

It looked like the Rally feature was filmed back in the summer so that would have been before Ben Collins 'came out' so I would have thought that it would have been him still.

 

ken block is tall and not that skinny, rally stig was def diff to track stig too, 5th gear still runs but on discovery now instead.

 

watch the foot work on the rally stage then watch the vid on youtube of jason plato with the f458 against the gt2rs.....

its the same and jason can flick a car about just the same.... look at the evo 10 against the frs mk2 ???

Im going to say Alastair aswell, there was one corner he flicked it round and it had his style of driving witten all over it.

 

The new stig deff isnt Tiff, as hes the wrong build...

Vikki Butler Henderson can't drive as well as that.

I would like to think its only 1 stig who does everything, but i gotta agree the idea of 2 or more seems very realistic atm!
