Ive been a keen Ford Fan for a good 10 years, and owned over 40 cars, 30 of them being fords (approx) always loved my mondeos, i always wanted an ST24 and when asking about them, be it on here, through friends, people in the trade, everyone bigged them up, said they were a good all round car..

Then since i got one 2 weeks ago, all ive heard is people critiize them,not the one ive bought, just critisizing it for its engine, performance, fuel ecomony, looks...

Im used to it, water off a ducks back, and i still love V6 Mondys. i think some people have this missconception there a performance car, so lambast the performance, when in reality, they never were, or intended to be, a performance car, they were intended to cruise up and down motorways all day long. i always stand by the same thing, for what they are, they drive well, go well, and sound nice, but there no performance car.

i bought one for Ł250 last year and didnt have high hopes but even for a ratty one I was very impressed and loved driving it. Would have a nice one in an instant.

Not quite an ST but I got a mk2 2.0 hatch for my daily and cant think of anything i'd rather have for the money

Take no notice whatsoever. Its your car and you bought it because you wanted one. End of. Nothing to do with anyone else. If you like it and the guy down the road doesn't, so what. As long as you like it, the hell with anyone that doesn't!
I dont like Peugeot cars, but not one post will you find of mine slagging them off. Peugeot must be doing something right - they have sold hundreds of thousands of the wretched things. Whether I like them or not is neither here nor there!
