Replacing hydraulic lifters/tappets
Hi
Just wondering if anyone would tell me how to replace the lifters in my xr2 engine?
Also is it easy?,plus do I need any special tools for the job?

It's very easy but they typically wear with the cam so you will most likely find that knackered as well. If you do change just the lifters don't expect them to last too well.
You will need a valve spring tool for about £10. Expect to take a good hour if you've not done it before.

As said easy job, no special tool needed though, simply get the r/c arm level so not under pressure, undo 13mm nut in centre, lift arm away exposing follower, a magnetic tool can be used to easily lift these out, do one at a time.
If wanting to do the cam, and these engines are known as Cam Very Hungry, so they eat a few, wear at a fast rate would not be a good idea.
A lot think CVH = Compound Valve Hemi, but really it's Cam Very Hungry!!
