What are the ideal conditions for painting ?

Clean swept floor, a put some water down to absorb dust and stop shit getting into your paint, (but dont flood the floor liike my mate did)

How far away should you spray the paint onto the object your painting ?

about 10" away from object

How many coats ?

Depends really no how much paint you got, but normally 2/3

How long between coats ?

depends on how warm it is in the bay, need it quite warm to help make the paint cure/go off, when tacky apply new 2nd coat

All depends what paint ur usin thou!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Distance is roughly a hands span away from the panel

Coats depends WHAT paint ur using, if straight colour 2pack then a 1/2 coat and full coat, and if needbe another full coat but doin that you could cause mega waves/runs!
Basecoat if its solvent then 2-3, waterbased they say u can get away with 1 1/2 coats then a grip(light) coat with the laquer then a full coat, and another if u feel u need it.

most you want the gun on about 2-2.5bar for spraying.

For applying another as long as it aint silly cold you can go straight on with another coat, if you leave it too long and it get too tachy then the next coat wont flow properly!!!!!!

As said make sure its clean and wetting the floor keeps the dust down, and you want it ambient temperature. If ur baking it u want a metal temp of 60 degrees (useless info but i had a question on it )

Grip coat is baiscally just a light coat then striaght on with a full coat, dont actually need to do it you can just go on with a full one but its the way they taught us to do it at college!!!
