cosworth head snap ?

Default cosworth head snap ?

anyone else got one those stainless cambelt cover on there cosworth put one on mine and keeps snaping the centre bolt my idea (after 3 bolts) stronger bolt but OHHH now its just snaped the lug off the head dont wanna take the head of but any ideas how to re fit and stop this ?

There must be a lot of force to keep snapping the bolts, I can only assume the force is when you tighten it up, maybe the centre pedestal is too short, and the stronger(than plastic) SS cover is straining the bolt as it tries to stay flat and not bow in slightly.
If it is the pedestal, that is fitted into the centre of the head that the cover bolt goes into that has snapped, the usual, drill VERY carefully after centre punching, then small l/h easy out, they should be that tight, they are also a very soft alloy, and 6mm diameter, so getting remains out shouldn't be a problem.
Easy to make another pedestal if you need a precise length one, I made mine out of 13mm hex bar to size, so if you get stuck for a different size(length) one pm me.
