i know on the T2 used on the puma S1600 works cars it did. its on T2 ECU pin no 50, although it mentions something about using a 1Kohm resistor with T2 ECU pin 22 to get the right reference voltage.

its a normal pulsed output so suitable for direct connection to a normal rev counter.

Sorry for the thread hijack but does anyone know where I could get a Pectel T2 ecu unlocked in the north of England. It was locked by Mountune when they did the mapping but they won't unlock it. Ideally I don't wanna lose the map to use it as a base map.

Also, what exactly can the T2 do when it's used as a piggyback ecu with a normal ford ecu?

T2 has to have a designated output for tacho drive, it's a choice of one of the three when the ecu is built iirc

T2 doesn't have a Pin 50! The ecu actually has a total of 25 pins. The ecu has 3 configurable pwm output drives which isn't great as you really need 4 (or 5 with fan control). You get to choose 3 of the following... idle control, fuel pump control, boost control valve, cooling fan & tacho. These are configurable within the software BUT a customer can spec what outputs he wants on what pins at the time of buying the unit from Pectel, this makes it a permanant spec. So if no tacho was spec'd then you have no tacho!

If it was an aftermarket rev counter that you had then you could always tee into one of the wires to that signal the coil pack.

My T2 was spec'd with , idle control , fuel pump , and tacho .

Is there any way the tacho could swapped for boost control??? i dont need the tacho a output as im runnning that direct off the coil pack - what i do need is boost control!!!

Cheers

the ford motorsport puma manual must be wrong then as it clearly lists ECU as T2+ or T6 and has the pin outs labelled as same pin numbers for both T2 and T6.

but wouldnt surprise me if the ford documentation is bollocks though
