Interesting read.
The progress on YB engines is incredible. Do you lads realise that 8years ago this engine would have been capable of running close to a new rwd Topspeed record. . You have a 180mph potential car there.

It is quite amazing really isn't it, all thanks to the top tuners who have stuck with the old yb like Mark, Tony, msd, Martin etc and now even the new age tuners. Fair play to all of you

what's a fast 0 - 100 mph time for a car these days? my 11 year old bike that would cost about Ł2.5k will do it in 6.8s apparently, but a modern bike will do it in the 5's.

I wheel spun the whole quarter from start to finish in 11.54 at 132 mph too

That car was a beast but these days 600+ hp is more drivable with better low down torque etc..

Yep agree, quickest i did in my old 3dr which was 350/360ft/lb so similar to this was 11.1secs and i'm crap at launching.. that's a bloody quick car tbh.

Mine now with a better driver than me i reckon would sneak into the high 10s to 100 maybe??

I know Tib off here got a 0-100 in under 10secs with a 370bhp T34 cossie... proven aswell...

doesn't sound quick when you compare it with a bike's times, but i know for a fact that a mk2 escort that does it in around 9 feels bloody quick
