Default Is this exhaust scrap?

Hi,

What do people think of this exhaust? It came off the car fine and wasn't blowing or anything, but I'm looking at it and thinking it's only fit for the bin. The rest of the exhaust is in great condition, just this end bit that's debatable.

Thanks.

I'll have to admit the HD camera doesn't do it any favours!

your cameras pretty good

it aint gonna seal properly in that state and you'd be hard pressed to grind it down to good metal and keep it flat. by then it would be too thin anyway i would have though.

personally i'd get a new flange and short length of pipe and chop the pipe just before the weld and replace that end length. perhaps bolt it together on the car and tack it all in possition first then take it off and weld it up properly. that way it won't be stressed when fitted.

Just to add, I'm not looking to actually fit it to my car, I just took it off. Thought I might get some cash for it but I don't want to sell something if it's not right.

I see what you mean now about it not sealing properly. If anyone wants it it'll be in Troon's dump tomorrow morning

wire brush the flange and take the loose crap off it, then you'll have a better idea of what it is actually like, i'm guessing it looks worse than it is

you asked the stupid question so what do you expect ??if you bought it on ebay and that came through the post how happy would you be with it?? its pretty obvious it's fucked , if you cant decide if its fucked or not you will need all the help you can get deciding on a colour to paint your car.

each to their own on the colour,i like it,if you dont then thats your problem not mine pal.

Well it wasn't a stupid question as it turns out it might be able to be repaired. I wasn't sure so thought I'd ask. What I'm going to do is give it to a lad in town and he can do what he wants with it.

Trust me here the colour of your car is not my problem. Thankfully.

maybe it should have been posted as 'is this repairable?' rather that 'is this scrap?' then.

its not a problem to me either mate, i have 3 orange cars because i like them.
there is a lot of folk on here with orange cars aswell that would disagree with you but as i said each to their own.

Maybe so, but telling me to get a grip wasn't the way to go about things. I do now however agree with the first half of your statement.

i think "is this scrap?" is a perfectly good question actually and he got the answer "no, its repairable"

don't see a problem with that.

i did NOT state any road tyre, just those specified from what i've read moron and that was only one test on one car on one track so not a very accurate test anyway.

you really do come accross as an idiot on here.

sorry 'a road tyre'.was it a hankook?? it was you that stated that fact my friend, not me, if it was not an accurate test then why quote it?

LMAO your a funny guy saying i am the idiot after 'your tyre statement' and your 'quality' track driving video, but i have been in one of those moods lately TBF.

i was merely quoting from the findings of that day, nothing more.

why do you have to try and slag someone else off when they pull you up for saying something stupid? as said Stoo's question was perfectly valid and you had to go calling him stupid. seems your the stupid one so have back.

now lets not clog up this thread with a pathetic slanging match aye.
