Default Checking your cars MOT history, anyone done it?

http://motinfo.direct.gov.uk/interne...ry-Request.jsp

Found this kind of cool just enter reg number and log book reference number.

All MOTs back to 2005 when the system went computerised.

Looks like the mileage on my £400 dogger mk2 mondeo 2000 reg zetec is genuine.

Looks to have failed more MOTs than it has passed lol.

The same garage has MOT'd it since 2005 aswell, seem like right tossers, they failed it because the rubber anti slip pad on the brake pedal was worn smooth

Anyone else gonna have a go?

Advisory Notice issued

Front both Brake disc(s) (3.5.1h)

Offside Front Tyre worn close to the legal limit (4.1.E.1)

Power steering pipe(s) or hose(s) has slight seepage from a component (2.3.1b)

Rear Anti-roll bar worn but not seriously weakened (2.4.G.1)

Parking brake lever ratchet mechanism is slightly worn (3.1.5)

They were the advisorys on the last MOT ( done on March 30th 2010 ) ay 97,500 miles, it expires end of March this year, its done 105,500 at the moment.

I got a funny kind of feeling it aint gonna pass this year either i know it needs a wishbone or two, passenger tyre outer edge is worn ( from hooning it around roundabouts ) and the drivers one is on the wrong way round (rotational)

More money!

Always do this when buying a car to check the mileage.

You just need the V5 ref number and the reg number to do it.

I even do it when they have fsh and have found mileage variations on some.

If no history and no old MOt's you can be pretty sure it will come up on the vosa check with a different mileage previously!

On mine in 2007 the mileage was 91k then in 2008 it was 113k then in 2009 it went down to 102k, then 2010 when i owned the car it was on 107k, and right now the reading is 115k, and last mot i did had no advisories
So whats going on? but as rallycross said above, funnily enough the car didnt have any history or mots with it......... meaning no need to worry?

the cars obviously been clocked.
people often 'lose' history and previous mot's to hide the fact they have been tampered with.
