Default .55 exhaust housing on a T34

What sort of power could be had with a .55 housing, on a low comp engine with ported head and 14 inlet cam.
Also how much earlyer does the power normaly come in over a .63 ?

I actualy had one fitted to my old car at one point but cant mind how it drove, just looking for ideas to make the car more responsive without spending £££, as its going to need a remap after the cam is changed anyway.

i have a t34 with a 55 housing and running 55lbs injectors....mine is just under 400bhp and it drives spot on, pulls from low revs very nice.

not sure Neil the maximum it would go to though with your spec.

I have a 55 and it goes fucking well! Never been rollered though. Was built for 400/400. People will say it wont do 400 bhp but it goes quick enough for me!

Mine did 371bhp on a .55 with a ported head but standard inlet cam, was also on 400s and about 7.8 comp (DD rollers)

A vernier is a good idea to get it timed in spot on but no piston mods required.

31% loss from flywheel hp to road hp?
Has anyone ever verified the road to flywheel hp conversions?
Surely nowhere near 31%?

I am sure that a 600 hp engine would not lose 200 hp to the wheels?

anyone?

4x4 does have a high transmission loss, but that does seem a bit high.

My 2wd was 315 ATW and 371 Flywheel.

Neil, A Roller bearing T34.63 comes on boost as early as a T34.48 but you get the top end power of a 63.

Danny its running 7.2:1 ,low but its a nice quite engine so not interested in ripping it to bits. As you know justnow it has a BD10 excam that will be getting junked , so will need a remap so looking at other changes to make at the same time to help responce.

Dave I did think about going roller core , but to be honest for the cash i wasnt impressed with my old rb T4

Aye they are pretty expensive, but I reckon if your looking for the response then they are worth it! We Stuck one on a 3door and were pretty impressed with it. Roller bearing seems to bring them in 1000rpm ish over a normal 360bearing.

Cool might look into that is it around £700 for the roller conversion, the turbo was rebuilt by CR fairly recently so shouldnt need any other work.

Dave what is the rest of your spec?

This car is just a toy for sunny days so not wanting to go spending loads on it , if a £100 ex housing will give a half decent improvement then no point spending £700 on a roller core. Not looking for loads of power as sticking to standard trans hopefully.
