Default cosworth engine question

righ me an my mate had his cosworth running today whilst it was runnin we removed the dump valve should the car cut out or stay runnin same as before or just drop revs a little . as it carried on running same no change in revs or anything

it will carry on running

it should rev up as it will sense an air leak i think

its not like an rs turbo when you remove dumpvalve or oil cap, as the breather system on them goes into a metering unit as its all buil it unlike cossies

Nah it will run fine, rev as it would with the d.v on unless it's a small turbo escos and it'll cut out or run rough because of the air flow meter.

shouldn't rev up either as the dump valve is befre throttle body
basicaly your just creating a boost leak,
should run fine but not boost as it should
unless its a late escort with airflow meter

cunt i wrote this at same time

cool i though it would of been like my old s2 when ihad a split in a pipe it cut straigh out nice one for the help peeps

Yes because RST is MFI and the slightest air leak will cause the engine to stall, EFI is different and as said it's before the T/B so in effect it's just like removing the hose. If you remove ISCV that would rev up massively.
