Scotty, absolutely gutted for you mate !

If it were me I'd get it properly set up at one of the tuners...Just had mine done at MSD, I was well happy with the service and it only cost £144

Yours was live mapped at NMS though so I would take it back to them and iirc NMS is closer to home...130 odd mile I think

The car will be fine to drive, just keep it off boost (you should be off boost at 60/70 in 5th on the motorway)....it'll cost you a fair bit in juice to get it ther and back though so factor that into the price (mine done £85 in under 300 mile pretty much all off boost !)

I wouldnt be happy with the tester fucking about with the fuel..Think I'd be having a whinge in his ear ! ...I know he was just trying to get it through the test but I'd rather it fail than that

Scott as said get Jamie to check it over, he checked mine before, and I'm going to take mine back soon just for piece of mind. Think he only charged me £20 to check it over on the road.
If it needs a set up though just take it back to NMS.

Did the tester ask you if you wanted it to pass or fail i.e. did he ask if it was ok to adjust it til it passed?

You need to know why it didn't pass first off, was it set up incorectly or is something broke, like the CTS (you can test the CTS with a volt meter, I THINK it should be ~5volts when it's cold, and as the engine's temp rises it should drop to something like 2.5 volts (someone correct me if im wrong)).

I'd personally take the car to a tuner with a RR who is close and with a good rep like MSD, doesn't matter who wrote the chip as to who sets it up as they'll have an AFR meter.

Your best bet is to ring Karl and ask what it should be set at. Explain whats happened and he will tell you the best course of action to take. If its a case of just getting it on a CO machine again and setting it back to where it was then get it to Jamie to set it and check the AFR's and its job jobbed. If it shouldnt have been that high to start with then you know there is an underlying problem somewhere that needs attention.

Would be worth checking the CTS as its not a hard job to do

No harm in phoning NMS as they mapped it just for there opinion! CTS is 0-5V and is a thermistor same as ACT just in a different housing, you can check output at ECU but for an accurate test you need to know the temp VS voltage scale.

I wouldn't personally, as mentioned 6% CO will probably be dumping fuel into the oil which isn't ideal, I personally would check the CTS with a multimeter first, if it's ok, i'd then take it to a tuner to get the fueling setup/checked and if there is a further problem hopefully they will have the knowledge to notice, if not, then minted your cars now fixed!

switch multi meter to 12v dc, put one wire from the meter into one pin on the back of the plug where the wires go in whilst it's attached to the sensor (obv) earth the other wire from the meter, reading as per martiesmartie is 0-5V, I thought it went from 5v-0 as the temp rose but martiesmartie reckons it goes from 0-5V as temp rises. I dont know what the temp vs voltage should read but if it goes from 0-~5v as the engine heats up thats a good start to an indication that it is working correctly.

No it's as you say, what I meant was it works on a 0-5V range.

Depends on what your having done, if it's just the CO then not a lot, as it involves simply setting it to what the software was written for, HOWEVER I think something must have changed. I personally would contact NMS, they mapped it and I presume it used to run ok after this? They may well know what the reason could be. For a setup your looking at just around £100+ from most places, I know MSD charge £141.
