Default flocking

can you flock mdf?

i wanna make a board to mount my socket set in the tool box and was gonna use mdf

but it would look gash left untouched so was wondering if flocking it would work / stick

Hi Gus

Yes you can flock onto MDF no problem using an Aqueous Polyurethane.

It is important that the adhesive coating does not get absorbed by the surface of the substrate, therefore, because wood is a porous material, a primer such as PVA or Acrylic Primer may have to be used prior to the adhesive being applied.

you can as said but if it gets rubbed hard by anything it will mark it and look shit after a while anyway

just get some speaker carpet and cover it in that
at least you can hover it

MDF is perfectly fine to flock as we have done many ice builds made from this, as Chris said you must seal the surface first, we use the process of laminating which is exactly the same as we do for roof linings and doors cards which are made from a cardboard material.
