probebly be better dropping a 24v'er init be far cheaper and around the same sort of bhp if not more

he would need

turbo
manifold
exhaust sorting to mate to the turbo
sort the sump for the turbo oil return
better breather setup
and not sure but would probebly need to sort the fueling i.e aftermarket ecu or chip etc etc

like i say probly better dropping a 24v'er

Depends on how much power he wants, can be done on carb a lot easier than efi, if only low boost cr will be ok, either way though a lot of work for not much gain at std comp/low boost.
He'd be better off with 48's etc or dropping a vaux XE in there, way better than the 24v ford stuff.

i had exactly the same thing in mk midnight blue rs2000 mk2, its a full on conversion using the 2 litre sierra fuel injection system and i believe it was l1 cossie management but not 100% sure on that, no need to change pistons as they are low pressure turbo at only 7 psi, mine was quick enough to stay wiyh a stage 1 esc cos so not sure of the power but i think it was about 170bhp

with the 24v'er everything is just bolt on simple,it will drop straight into the 3door no messing bolt a xr4i type 9 box and clutch and its just the wiring basicaly

2-210bhp for cheap money buy a whole granny for 300 quid and loads of torque

his engine has carbs on it he also just wants to have a turbo sound so i think he would just want low boost but is it a hard job to do as it sounds like he needs alot of stuff to buy

is his current pino carb'd or injected?
if its injected then its realy quite easy, easy enough on carb as well i supppose,
hardest part is prob finding the parts to convert it

you posted while i was writing

if its on 48's then its actualy a bit more comlicated, (not rocket science)
you'd need to seal the carbs in a inlet chamber to force the air out the turbo into,
take a bit of fabrication but again it is doable but cost a couple quid just to get a noise

There is an age old video of a Saph which is Pinto T on Youtube drifting, think it's a Holset 35 turbo, I personally quite like the idea, he used Megasquirt management as well, just a shame Ford didn't offer it in the first place!
