Default Anybody owned a Skyline GTS?

Half interested in replacing my Audi A4 with one as it's getting a bit long in the tooth now. Budget won't stretch to getting a GTR but seen quite a few GTS's around the £4k mark. Would it be an acceptable daily hack? What are they like on breakages? How quick and easy to tune? Usual car questions really if anybody has any genuine experience

I was very tempted at a GTS, but not as day to day car, just as lot of fun, went and purchased the 2010 focus day to day, still trying to find the balls for a GTS!

i've got one at the moment, using it while it's for sale. they are like anything, looked after, they are reliable enough. problems come more when they have been skidded around every cone possible.

not to bad on fuel, comparable to a std cos/rst, mid 20s-low 30s. the noise and pull of the 6cyl is very nice, as well

if you are shopping, check for rust in the sills and front strut tops, noisey boxes and diff, have a yank on the back wheels to check the HICAS joints and check the drivers window works. garage i do odd jobs for sold 14 window regs in 2 days once the cold snap hit.

otherwise, normal cars, pretty much. bit like a turbo'ed beemer

I could never have one. I'd feel like I was buying half the car, like owning an xr3i

I like these defo a car to have for me, the GTS in question by OP is RWD, the GTR is not 4WD rather it is 2WD but when extra traction is necessary (It knows so by obtaining feedback through throttle position and G-forces etc) it can deliver a maximum of 50% torque to the front wheels, as such under normal driving it's a 2WD car.

The GTS is available in a variety of different engines a T appended to the end of the name denotes the engine is Turbo charged.

There is also a GTS-4 which is 4WD

Thats a little brief from what I know but there is a lot to learn about.

Wrong spy. Lee had an R34 GTR which was tuned up. Circa £35k at the time maybe... not a 4k GTS

mate of mine had a 450bhp one that owed him all of 5k. If you think the difference between a GTS and a GTR is comparable to that of a rs turbo and a xr3i then yikes, frankly.
