And my aunt had an xr2, and my uncle a xr3, but it had an rs1600i engine/bumpers (well everything rs lol) and he had both mk1 and mk2 escorts before it.

So yes, I think I got into fords from my family.

From what I can remember, since I've known my old chap, he's had a mk5 Cortina, mk3 xr3, mk3 xr3i, now its a Nissan of some sort. But I'm told by my stepmother that in the 70's he had a mk2 Escort, his hobby was rallying so was this was the car he used.
Growing up with my godparents, they had -
1979 Talbot Avenger estate,
1983 Astra 1300s estate
1986 Astra 1300 merit estate,
Then they got a car each, starting with -
1987 Pug 205 diesel and 505 estate,
Numerous 205's upto 2000, 505 was chopped in for a 1992 Proton,

Mum has only had 3 cars in her life and only got rid of her first a Morris Marina 1.8 Coupe in Brooklands Green due to rot, Dad did the same to his Ford Capri in Roman Bronze for the same reason when I was younger, the rest we still have of which four are Fords.

I know of the cars mentioned here which were new from my childhood and others I know due to being into and brought up with classic cars, one of my dads car's is a P6B which seems to be a favorite on this thread.

Old man had-
A lot of Stuff Im far too young to remember...

-Several Suzuki Swift GTIs - still swears by them to this day, but the earlier one being better apparently due to handling. never got to see them mind you
-Fiat tipo diesel - bit too young to remember this and it was probably shit. think it was bought brand new tho J or K reg
-Saab 9000CD 2.0 petrol i think L845CKO - one of the first cars I remember he had loads of saabs before that but i was too young.
-Saab 900S 2.0 petrol N986CON - remember this quite well had a fair few holidays in this car and even tho a pretty boring car, just fantastically reliable!
-Nissan Primera Sport 2.0 OY51YZN -zzzzzzz.....parents shared this
-Citroen AX 1.4 in turquoise ? E plate - pretty dreadful car got broken into, the sod pretty much just touched the igniton and it was written off.
-Nissan Micra 1.0 G163ARO - again dad went through a stage of buying really shite cars as he only did around 3 miles a day in them at this point.
-Citroen Xantia 1.8 petrol N???HNM - not a bad car although french and really ugly. so comfy and never really went wrong. if i remember it had the biggest folder of reciepts id ever seen! had been well looked after.
-Subaru Forester 2.0 Sport GK52PFX? - not a bad car, bit slow and thirsty but still a good workhorse!
-GJ53LHB - Audi A4 2.5TDi Quattro 180 - his current motor and very nice too just a boring sloshbox tittytronic rubbish jobbie.

a few bikes
-Suzuki bandit 600 W56XKJ
-Triumph Sprint RS in Brightest Yellow possible Y reg
-Same again in an even brighter yellow than i thought possible GN03???
and current Suzuki SV1000 GN54KUG in black and its a minter only done about 4 or 5k

Mum -
-MK2 Fiesta 1.1 popular F???MHJ - i hated it as a kid, and until recently put me right off all mk2 fezzas but growing to like them now but the plate had my mums initials in lol
-Kia Pride 1.3 L reg - LOL
-Vauxhall Astra 1.6 8v R792AOO - not too bad i guess handled like a sack of shit and went wrong a fair bit but sold it to neighbours son and its still goin
-Then the primera which they shared for a bit
-Now a 55 Saab 93 Aero 2.0T and its a very nice car

Thats it, my dad never drove and i have no idea what my mum drives know as i don't keep in touch with her.

My uncle had untold amounts of mk1/mk2 escorts, he totalled a mexico when he was 17 and was lucky to live, still didn't stop him messing around with cars all his life.
