I have ran a 235/40/17 tyre on the back of the Saph for years and they are fine. The only trouble i ever have is if i have 2 up in the back or a boot full of stuff and hit a big bump, then it rubs on the inner arch liner [Only noticed when taking the wheels off].

I suppose if you were willing to properly trim the kit and role the arches right back on a 3dr you should be able to fit a 245 or even a 255 wide tyre. The trouble is different tyre makes come out in different width's so one companies 245 might be like another's 235.
