Default removing spot welds

i bought a wurth bit for it an tbh its fucked after doing both sills one 1/4 panel what best cutter out there got £30 to spend?

i use machine marts £7 quid cutter it cuts around the spotweld on one side of the panel only they last for ages so long as they are used SLOWLY! ive had the same one for over a year and it has removed numerous panels

Nah,machine mart ones have the springloaded plunger and like a mini hole cutter around the outside.

Otherwise try a cobalt spotweld drill but as said above slowly and perhaps some sort of coolant/rtd spray.

Ive used both and found the machine mart version far more effective.

i had a machine mart one when i done my old fez rear quarter and found it crap tbh, mate who works in vw bodyshop gave me one which looks like a normal drill bit but flat at the end with the point in the middle sticking out about the thickness of a skin of metal if that makes sense, great bit

yeah ive used those very easy to end up going through both panels tho if not carefull which could potentially fuck a job up if you cant get to the other side to weld

the one above is shit get the one with spring loaded plunger like a minin hole cutter i got a set ,removed 4 quarters sills ,removed loadsa parts on 3 car builds and im still on the first bit go slow and they last ages best iv found

a treppanning or butterfly drill, I always used to grind my own from normal drills, the depth of the recess between cutting points and centre wants to be 3x the thickness of the metal otherwise they burn out dead quick
