We popped back to the car to make sure it was secure and for me to grab my fuel monitor out of it etc.
I grabbed a quick pic on my phone - hard to see the extent of the damage as its obviously got a layer of snow over, but:

what a shit state,atleast no one got hurt seriously......yet.
if this was me then they would be receiveing a whole lot of shit for the next few weeks,tyre slashing and generally anything you can do to fuck up there motor.I had a twat reverse into my wifes car then said there was no damage worth swapping insurance details for,he then drove off.the police got involved and then the twat said she hit him,there was over grands worth of damage with an excess of Ł400.I was like a racecar on red,we had already got his address from insurance details from the police,so i went round in the dark and dropped the oil out his shitty old transit,pulled the oil pressure switch wire off and put the sump plug back in.Revenge is a dish best served cold! still makes me smile when i remember doing it....what a twat

either way, they have sent out a NIP and i guess they have 28 days to reply....
i can see this also taking a long time to sort out.
on another note, my made who lives in our street had a look earlier, and said he reckons it shouldnt be that hard to repair. just need to wait and see what the assessor says in the next few days.
tbh tho, with all the grief ive had with that car, maybe its for the best if they write it off... i dunno...

or are they not allowed to touch it because it belongs to a protected "ethnic minority" and hence positive discrimination is allowed??
or are they afraid their police station/helicopter/police compound might be attacked/petrol bombed???
