I was, just about to walk and a guy in a 4wd pick up towed me up the hill I couldn't get up. Lwb rwd transit plus hill covered with stranded cars = no go for me.

Respect for the guy though, got me up there, both of us all over the road lol. Managed a run up to the next hill and just made it as had no obstacles. 25 min drive took me just over 2 hrs, absolute carnage on the roads.

Saw the obligatory new 4wd land rover smash into a tree on a bend as he thought 4wd means being able to take the bends fast in the snow

got in from work at 14.00, im a hgv driver. ive had a brilliant time.
i absolutely love this weather.
its taken me ages to get where im going but im still enjoying in.

just come in from playing outside with the kids.
its great.
all these misrable bastards moaning about the weather and how the councils arent doing enough is making me laugh.
time people did something for themselfs and drove properly, maybe invest in winter tyres or chains.

we should be preparing ourselfs for the weather instead of expecting others to sort it out for us.
it amazes me that this country won any wars at all when we seem to be totaly fucked with a little snow.

rant over now go play in the snow

Loads down by me(Swansea) particularly my actual area (pennard).

I'm doing my boys paperound right now as he's recovering from the op and I've got to say,old people have fucking no idea how to drive in the snow.

Some old cunt was trying like fuck to get up a slight gradient in his Mazda with no regard for anyone else, rolling back down the hill,he nearly clipped about 5 cars on the way down. There's kids everywhere and he's trying a "run up" yet won't change out of first gear.fucking retard.

On the 5th failiure he decides to go the long way round and lo and behold he makes it!!

Our merc ml has been faultless in the snow,ok I don't hammer it around but ive had no issues with it at all,it's hard to tell your in snow tbh.

Do you still need two sets of tyres in Germany?seems a good idea.

I only had a focus 1.8 estate last year and never got stuck.same with my transit the year before, driving in snows not hard, takes a bit more concentration and time but the amount of fucking retards I see is incredible.someone got stuck in a brand new Nissan juke(????) thing in my street. It was obvious that his traction control was just kicking in and cutting the power, but rather than switching it off,his hazards come on and he's straight on the phone where daddy comes to pull him out in a disco td5.fucking pathetic!!!

Got to laugh at these lads on my estate with a sooty van.the two of them have just been drifting it all day, very controlled as well!!!

Totally agree, although I am sure there are exceptions, most just play it out for an excuse not to work, at the end of the day it's a bit of snow, get over it!

Even if you don't like driving in the snow that is fair enough but for the majority of us using our legs isn't physically impossible or public transport. It winds me up how something so trivial can cause so much chaos! On another note I have never got stuck either.

there's about 4 or 5 inches worth of snow round my way, but seeing as my little bit of road is a little layby for 5 houses, no one got in ror out, so there's a 6 inch ridge of ice that's built up on the main road, couldn't get the fiesta out over the top so the transit is going ot be just the same tomorrow morning

assuming it starts that is

Yeah am still stuck ..

BA couldnt manage to get the 777-300 off the tarmac at Heathrow ..

Think they need winter engines as the normal ones dont work in the snow ..

don't blame the car for your mates poor driving skills

i have a focus and its never let me down even in 8inch + of snow with ice undernieth on hilly un gritted rural lanes (live out in the sticks with a very steep hill to negotiate). last year i had half worn falken fk452's on which only got stuck once but i got it without getting out the car (no noone pushed or towed me) and this year i have as new hankook evo s1's which a thought would be complete shite as they barely have any cross cuts in the tread!!

so, focus's are great in the snow. 8)

speak for yourself lol
these 3 were awful. they were all new shape ones though. it wasnt the snow they were getting stuck in, it was the ice and they were effected badly by the camber of the roads, just parked at some lights and it slid over to the curb lol
