Failed....
but not on much at all!
when i had the dash out to sort the fuel level guage/sender i forgot the plug the fog light switch back in. the switch was on the passenger seat, but as they couldnt find it it failed on that.
it also failed on the hydruaulic handbrake not having a locking mechanism. i have a very simple idea that will take 5 mins to implement so thats not an issue.
and the emmissions LOL
its allowed 4.5% and actual value was 8.304
HC ppm allowed is 1200 and acutual value was 2189
so its VERY rich, but nothing 10 mins with a laptop wont sort. if i knew how
i have 10 days to sort those things and take it back.
Advisorys:
slight play in n/s/f wheel bearing.
so all in all, not bad!
hopefully vickers will be round at the weekend with a laptop, so any tips on adjusting the emmissions for between 2500 - 3200 rpm?

cheers lads.
no, just going to uses some 5mm thick alloy or steel plate, nut and bolt through the top hole of the handbrake lever, so you can just flick it up and wedge it agains the dash.
the garage said that idea would be fine lol.
so its just playing with the map that may be the issue

PassionFord Post Whore!!
at least it aint a lot, easily sorted in 10 days.
i thought handbrakes had to be independant of the hydraulic system? reason being if you had a split brake pipe, you have no form of braking, whereas if you have a mechanical(cable) handbrake then you can use that to slow down.
so im surprised it failed on a non locking hydraulic brake.
saying that i have one on mine with a lock, but a friendly mot man lol
as said the emmissions are easily sorted with the laptop and a co tester.
all in all not a bad day really

partially, EP didnt have time to finish it as it had some issues i had to address first. like at the time it was making a fucking horrific nois/vibration that sounded like something was very fucked.
it was just a loose screamer pipe in the end
i need to do a little more to it, then take it back so they can finish it!

After 5 years, that's a bit of a let down that's it's only failed on o ly tiny items like you not plugging the fogligt switch back in: cry:
Bet there were people here thinking it was going to fail on the engine beig fitted to the car with cable ties or something equally spectacular
But fir a pretty much self build, it's great to be able to see the finish in sight eh

10K+ Poster!!
By rights it shouldn't go through with a hydraulic handbrake, locking or not.
That said its a right bonus they don't care !
Hope you get the other bits sorted, bet you can't wait to go and do some barry laps round town in the evenings.
