Looks like it goes well, bit 80's with the styling
although beware of high milers though with plenty of bore wear, especially on the yellowtop model.
I reckon it would run well but you may want to put a rubber sleeve over your piston as to me it's had a lot of test drives and been used very hard.
A good way to measure wear is to check the exhaust on them.most of the time its small, tight and VERY hard to access. A lot of those older models will have had the bore increased, again by a piston of various sizes, but generally it will be far tighter than the front bore, especially if a heads been removed via the front bore.
You often find that the older models allow access quite regularly, especially if they've got a full tank of high octane fuel, like an alcohol mix.sometimes this is the only time to access it via younger models as it can be a tough jb,there's very little room in there if it's an unused example.
I have personally had one example where I could use the full bore of the exhaust anytime I wished as the model actually seemed to really enjoy the work on her exhaust?it even had a "piston clean up" option where after you'd finished working on the exhaust, you entered the piston, complete with any crap from the exhaust into a large adjustable bore at the top end of the model and it adjusted with use of a lot of lubricant to remove any residue left on the piston.
Often this can be as much pleasure as actually driving into the other bores and this method guarantees no head removal in the future.
I used to enjoy this method when I was driving along the motorway a bit bored with the model next to me as it requires no effort from the driver, although be aware that it's VERY EASY to lose concentration, especially if the model has had extensive experience of this or even if it's been updated via visual, aural media.this can work especially well with younger models who may not have done this very often if at all, remember, goid practices now lead to better performances in the future.
Some models prefer to leave the front bore intact and have the head removed by cutting a section of the front end off and removing the head that way, generally these models have less wear but of course if a piston of over say 10" in length has been previously inserted, especially if the driver was in a rush and simply slid the material covering to one side and went "straight in" with little or no lubrication, sometimes it's irrepairable.
This also seems to happen when an older driver attempts to enter when the model was younger than say 16 years old,the bore wear then can be very bad.often you'll find these models have had very high usage and tend to be quite unloved.
Some foreign models have had a head removed before their ten years old which is not legal in this country.
Modification work has become massive in the last few years.back in the 80's it was only really adjusting head colour, filling, painting and larger models being stripped down to improve their performance, although this point is arguable as if their to stripped down often they don't wish to perform as well as the larger models.
Now,new bumpers at the front seem to be a very common option, although these are far harder than the originals but if fitted correctly they can last a lifetime.jack up blocks are used to raise height and these can really improve the aesthetics of the vehicle, particularly the " glass heeled" option, very desirable.
Overall a good buy,but beware that as it's been advertised "warts and all" you may find a lot of interest from previous and new owners.security on these models is often overlooked ant they do tend to get "stolen" if not maintained, some if not regularly used.this is not often noticed.
Beware on some models claiming an fsh,it's hard to prove thus unless your the only owner from new.lots have been driven hard and won't show the miles at all.
Beware of models that look really good, have things like jimmy choo tyres fitted, expensive accessories etc as these can end up being very expensive!!!
