People driving in the snow
Police are now giving on the spot fines of £60 plus 3 points for all drivers not clearing the snow off cars before driving. Mainly the roof as braking and snow coming on to windscreen. Prob all sounds like common sence but easily forgot when needing to get to work.
drive safe everyone.

I hope you got there numbers to report them. The local paper heard about this hoax the other day and contacted the police. They are not doing anything apart from warn drivers and wont be giving out fpn for it. Although if it was a cause of an accident it would be a different matter

You dont get 3 points for not clearing snow off your roof These fucking idiots who have it plastered all over there facebook and sending out texts make me laugh.
Spoke to my mate who is a copper and he said you could be fined but would need to be a cunt of a copper to actually fine you for it.

Complete load of bollox but technically they can do it..... Here is an extract...
This is the section of the Highway Code that covers this and the Police will use if necessary under the Road Traffic Act:
229
Before you set off
* you MUST be able to see, so clear all snow and ice from all your windows
* you MUST ensure that lights are clean and number plates are clearly visible and legible
* make sure the mirrors are clear and the windows are demisted thoroughly
* remove all snow that might fall off into the path of other road users
* check your planned route is clear of delays and that no further snowfalls or severe weather are predicted
[Laws CUR reg 30, RVLR reg 23, VERA sect 43 & RV(DRM)R reg 11]
Think you'd need to be very unlucky to get points for it though, but saying that due to the exposure it has had over the last few days (Facebook, forums etc) the Police may enforce it?!

Did Someone Mention TUV

I cleared front screen and back screen, lights, all windows. Left all the snow on my roof and bonnet. Drove past a copper slowly who was staring at my car so i just staed back at him. Slowed up even more in case he wanted to turn round and pull me over. He just carried on.

it's not just to abide by the rules, but isn't it common sense? do people think it would be a good situation for it all to slide over either screen and block their vision? too many unthinking morons on the road

Indeed mate I agree, although with 75% of the dumbass UK drivers in this weather i'm not surprised they have had to make it an offence!

Well if you know the 'people' tell them to get in touch with hull daily mail as humberside police have stated they will NOT be giving anything out appart from advise. The old rumour mill has been proper spouting shit about this.
