yep, ive made mine.
as you have ive got a mid engined car and i bought a cheap about Ł25 i think,
and i need to change it.
it works ok but ddue to the length and bends in it, the pedal is very stiff and sometimes is a bit tough to return.

im going to replace it with a much better quality but dearer cable. lol

first 1 came from here

http://www.nfauto.co.uk/choke_cable.htm

the next 1 will be from

http://www.rcscables.com/

this is where my gear linkage cables from and they are the firm that ford used to make the gearr linkage cables for the new gt40

and i used speedy cables, as above, for my first set of linkage cables.
they were crap in comparison,
much harder to shift, much much lower quality, couldnt bend anywhere near as well as above, and they snapped after very little usage.

probably fine for throttle but im sticking with rcs

I bought a kit made by a company called Venhill. Came with various adjuster options and ends (OK, so you had to solder them or screw them on) and a Teflon liner to make the cable smooth.

I'll find a link. Worked well for me.

The problem with the eBay kit is it's almost the same as what I've got and I'm sure it's fine for front engined cars I wouldn't recommend it for mid/rear engined setup as like I said due to the length, amount of bends and tightness of bends needed, it makes the pedal very stiff.
