Saw it this morning. Looked very clean. Turbo is huge. Owner seemed happy. Off it went back to north London. Hoping it drove fast.

it pulls effortlessly then boost comes in smooth with a big kick heres the graph:

just need to sort suspension and interior now! never bloody ends.

cant wait to connect laptop to ecu and see whats on view ( dont worry Luke i wont be changing anything)
can i just say that Lukes attention to detail is top notch, hes really done me proud tinkering with little faults that i was waiting to get round to and the ECU installation is spot on.
i would have never expected an after market ECU to make such a difference to the running of the car

thanks once a gain to luke and danny
1. for putting up with me and
2. for the outstanding job they have done

before any one says that there was more to come from the set up i requested that it was held back and mapped safe and not pushed as hard as it could be!

Comes in with a bang! Does it not rev very hard due to restrictor - ie, cant get any more air through the turbo past 6k?

yeah it can and does but as i said didn't want it pushed to the limits as i dont drive it on the rev limiter! the other graphs showed higher rpm's this was just the last run after the inlet plen gasket blew!
Luke did say it was a bit lazy making the power due to the restrictor but the torque made up for it and i wouldn't notice it.........he wasn't wrong!

Very sensible, car looks mint, always hearing good stuff about these two!!!

What interior bits you after mate, ive got loads of trim laying about, got a near damn perfect rainbow cloth trim and a couple of sets of early cloth, may even have a leather somewhere in pretty good order.

You could certainly make a good leather out of all the spare bits I've got.

As I have said many, many times before on PF ..... its all about the mapping attention to detail etc.... NOT the ecu type that makes the difference !!
Looks like EP have done you proud there and glad you are happy though

Bloody hell, just saw the replies, Congratulations mate!

You must be over the moon, glad they found the problem. Can believe the torque your making at such low rpm!!!

Cossie4i what turbo are you using? gt30?

any particular reason you decided to run a restricted T4 and not a regular one to allow more power at the top end?

still think i'd prefer to have the low down torque could have got an extra 40bhp but would rather have it safe ish

steves graph looks shit hot! power doesnt drop off like the other, rather have power to the limiter than 6000ftlbs at 1000 rpm and power that drops off lol

Did you try it without the restrictor? Power up top would be better, the turbo would spin slower, and spool shouldn't be effected by anything noticeable.

I cannot see how the restrictor makes the car better around town, all it can do is restrict the airflow and increase its velocity at that point. However its irrelevant when theres a much bigger restrictor (the throttle body/flap) further down the line. Off boost it won't make a difference, so unless you drive around town like a tool, I can't see how its any better.

I'm sure it changes the power characteristics once on boost, but at least remove it and give it a try to see what results it gives.

I don't know how it does it but Take it from me mate off boost it drives like 1.6/1.8 family saloon and not like a hugely laggy T4 YB it's actually a pleasure to potter about in it

Think I will at some point remove the restrictor send it off to CR's and have them mill me a standard sized version, then take it back to Luke and get him to map it on that as it would be nice to have the option of either or! As I think I could stretch to swapping map files
But as it is, is just what I was after drive ability

Danny,
can I just say it makes a refreshing change for a tuning company to be so open and helpful with advice and information.

I realise this is only allowed here as you are an official trader but thats not your fault as we have lost so many good (and well known) people from giving FREE advice and help on this site because of the inflexible rules even when they were genuinely trying to help

Danny,

So does it need a full remap then, or just fueling altering??

I can sort it myself

Just back off the actuator to lower the boost
