if your kids are going to just "run away" what help is a wider parking space?im sorry but unless there is a child magnet on the shop, how do you know which direction they are going to run?what a useless argument.if you cant control your children,if they are going to be running around, screaming, jumping out of trolleys etc...and you cant be bothered to teach your kids road safety because it "something they learn in school"and you have shrugged off all parental responsibility to teach them anything, then please,do your shopping online!!!!
you can have it delivered,no one gets hurt, you dont have to struggle with the kids and the chairs, all is well, and i dont have to get pissed off because some little brat wont stop screaming in the shop!
oh....i DONT park in either parent or disabled bays,i park furthest away so i dont get involved in the death race!

Kind of feel sorry for the little cunt really. A lifetime of trying to get bronze in his GT5 licences and failing everytime. Holed up in his pokey council flat, masturbating with tweezers over items from his mum's underwear drawer. (that he stole when he moved out)

plenty of places now stipulate that the parent/toddler spaces are for those with kids under the age of 5 and anyone else parking there will get ticketed so carry on
i've parked there with the van and people always give me funny looks, until i get out with one of the kids, i've even had a ticket and have then gone to the store manager (assistant) to give them grief about it and then they say "there was no child seat" before i say "but you don't need to for kids over 4 for times when you can't get one, seeing as both seats are in my mrs car and she's taken it and i've come to your store to get some essentials, otherwise why would i want to rick my kid by driving with no seat in the vehicle, shall i call the paper?" and then she got all apologetic and shit

To be fair it shouldn't really have been in the glovebox!
Re Dojjs post, do kids of 4 years of age need the special child spaces, if you have no baby seats etc?
I hate going to supermarkets at the best of times, no matter where you park and how quick you are, next time you wash the car you are BOUND to find another scratch dent or scuff, no respect for other peoples property, just because you don't give a shit about your cars, doesn't mean I don't...
(N.B. I don't park in disabled or parents spaces either.)

I've got a kid and I do use the Parent and Child Space when he's in the car, mainly because it is difficult to get him out of his car seat without having to open the door as wide as it will go. However when he's old enough to walk safely we will not use them, they should just be for when there is a baby seat involved. should be called Parent and Baby/Toddler spaces. The number of times I've seen 10+ year olds get out of cars using these spaces, just lazy.
Also for me the spaces can be as far as you like from the door, other end of the car park if you want, just wide enough so I don't damage the car next to me, only fair I wouldn't like a car door slammed into my car either.
As for people who have 4x4's and use Parent or Disabled spaces, when they don't need to, because they just can't drive a large vehicle, don't get me started

Was funny when some idiot tried to have a pop at me when i parked the focus in a parent and child space.. she expected me to have no child with me and because the windows are tinted couldnt see the child seat in the back of the car!

I dont care that you slag me off but telling people that someone is a paedophile on a forum is just wrong, you have kids, so you should understand thats something you dont do. Obviously you dont so you make your bed, you lie in it. See you soon cunty.

A disabled parking space, or a parent and child parking space, ? which one is best,, there's only one way to find out...FIGHT !!!!!!!!
Seems to be a lot of it on here over a discussion about parking laws.

14000+ post superhero
and i do have 2 young kids, its just sometimes i dont take them with me to the shops. it doesnt say the kids have to be with you to park in the parent and child spaces.
perhaps the amount of disabled spaces , particularly in supermarkets is a little excessive as ive never seen them all filled .
i usually drive a long wheelbase renault master so i always park at the far end as i need 2 spaces anyway .
it also baffles me the amount of people that consider being a fat lazy bastard enough of a qualification to park in a disability space.

We have I think it is 6 disabled bays up top and a 8 underground. I've seen them all filled before. Whether all of them are actually disabled is another matter. But I felt particularly sorry for the dude that I helped around the store, done his shopping and took it all back to his car because he was on crutches and he parked down the other side of the car park because he didn't have a blue badge and didn't want to park in a bay.

also, if a private car park you can park wherever you like. I used to work in co op in my younger days and would always park near the exit on a disabled bay and the store manager could not get my car moved. I have grown up now so dont do this and always park away from most traffic.
Also, a few years ago when i was recovering from a major knee op - i parked the cossie in a disabled bay in a local car park to goto the shops. As i was getting out some old bloke came up and started saying you cant park there blah blah - he soon shut up when i picked my crutches out the boot
Also - having crutches in the car is great if you need to park in Ikea - especially right next to the loading bay - just drive up to the barrier and the attendant will shake his head at the car and all you need to do it is shove a cructh out the window and the barrier opens
