Default Have a look at my ankle !!!

Whilst being back at the hospital yesterday to have stitches removed I decided to take a pic. This was done 3 weeks ago and i had to spend a week in hospital.I fractured this in two places 3yrs ago after coming off one of my motorbikes. That time it all turned black and i continued to walk around on it for a week and a half before having a cast fitted. This time i fell over the dogs bowl and couldn't get up dislocated and broken.
Some pins and a plate later, this is the result.Look at the incision it looks like they used a bloody bread knife !!

Pins side

Plate side like i say it looks like a bread knife was used

No sledging or driving for me over christmas

I had to keep the leg elevated in the hospital to reduce the swelling so i could have the op.Its still swollen now and the sensation has not returned yet in places. All my leg is bruised ?.The first time I did it the all my foot went black toes n all and everybody was tellin me as i had sprained it.The hospital said ligaments untill I returned a week later. It was lucky then I was wearing a brand new pair of tech10 boots otherwise i suppose it could of been a lot worse.I still had to kick my 250 2 stroke up twice with it fractured in two places, that hurt !!.

you will probably find now that part of your leg never returns full feeling as the periferal nerves have been cut. some will grow back together but some wont. i have a huge patch on each leg now which is cmpletely numb. may improve over the next year or two but will still be mostley numb for the rest of my life.

good luck with your recovery mate. take it easy and get everyone else to wait on you

the more you walk around when you shouldnt the longer it will take to heal and the more pain you will be in.

try telling yourself hat every time you get up, might help to keep you off your feet...

...unless your a stubborn bastard :P

I got run over a few years ago by a Spanish twat on a moped in Gran Canaria. I had a bunch of screws put in my smashed ankle from both sides. I have a patch on one of the sides that if I scratch it, I can feel it on the bottom of my foot.
