guys i have picked up some redirect virus.every time i go to google and search something it redirects me to daft adverts.mostly some gomeo page.googled it and its some virus its saying.i have macafee security but isnt showing anything.done a trojan search from some company and its saying there is 7 on the computer but want me to subscribe.before i do is there any free ones anybody has used.

i have the same fuckin thing mate, i get redirected to gomeo when i use google, bing, whatever, also have mc afee, once i m in a site its fine tho , but its gettin to the site you want to go too,
its doing my fuckin head in

its a pain in the arse.my computer is going haywire with other things also.as you said once its on a site its fine.need rid of the fucking thing.

I had a simular problem at the beginning of the year, got told to use these 2 programmes...

And also malwarebytes.

Got rid of my problem but I had to use another laptop to get the programmes as it wouldn't let me go online.

I also had to change the name of the files so it couldn't detect it.

i also tryed superantispyware and that avira and ran them but i still could nt get rid of it

what about restoring your system to a previous date would that work?

I had a root virus a few months ago, the only free software that found it, was Hitman Pro...............You can download it on a free trial!!

By chance the programme wasn't Security Suite 2010 or something was it? That was stopping you?

A full scan is vital, also do it offline if possible.

Don't forget to turn off system restore before fixing the pc as the trojan may be saved in a folder

Delete all old restore points

Then enable it when the pc's clean

restart your pc in safe mode with networking, download a program called rkill and run it once it has run dont restart the pc. Unhide hidden folders inc system files turn off system restore then uninstall malwarebytes and re install it update it and run full scan then restart.
go to trend micro double check with a scan, then turn on system restore rehide hidden files and system files should be clean after that.
