Alaskan Malamute and Staff X Mastiff, max the mally is good as gold other than his howling and if he wants to go for something u gotta be ready for it or he will have u over!! No shit we went on a mally rescue fund rasier trip up mount snowdon and was proper shit weather hammering it down!! Had my hood up and didnt see a sheepto the side of us, he did and pulled me over an along for about 5m the shitbag Not allwed off lead either as if he went after something theres a high risk he'd never come back!!
Maddie the staff x is a lovely dog but really pushes her boundrys, does with me but moreso with Tach as she lets her get away with more, bloody women!! Also had a few probs as shes decided shes top dog over max now so they've had a few scraps which isnt fun cos their both fookin strong!!

4 year old staff. Brilliant dog and very loyal. She loves her fuss and doesn't really like big walks. A 20 minute walk is enough. They get bad reputation but i don't think i would have anything else.

My SBT Dempsey. 4 years old last month.
If me and the other half ever split up she can keep the house and the contents but she won't be keeping the dog.

we have two siberian huskies.highly excitable breed.and have to have a pack leader.me! they run rings round my missus, although she is getting better with them.they are never off lead as they will be gone and cover far too much ground too quickly!
ours are 4 years old now,and i wouldnt be without them.
here they are from a few weeks ago
as for the beagle.my mates missus has one, bought it as a pup about 6 mths back.i told him he would be the leader, and sure enough even though h doesnt live with her it does what he says and ignores her totally
paul @northyorks,cant believe they are 3 already.i can remember you getting them.

Got a small Lhasa Apso callde Trevor, had him since a pup and he's now 18 months old! Funny little charactor, hyperactive 95% of the time and always stands his ground with bigger dogs!! (its small dogs he's scared of oddly enough!!!!)

Do any of you that have 2 dogs suffer with them fighting ? our 2 staff's have just started scrapping so we are having to keep them seperated. Its so sad that they just wont get on and im wondering if any of you have had similar and managed to find a way round it ?

Here's my Bella, she's nearly 9 now but surprisingly for a staff has very little grey.
We got her off a bad girl who went into a hostel with her kid so couldn't keep her.she hadn't been badly treated but couldn't move very well
as the girl never walked her.
She's got the most gentle temperament around humans but not animals, especially sheep, shes bloody clever too, knows how do all manner of things, open cupboards, lock the car doors from inside, operate electric windows.lately we've caught her trying to switch the fan heater on when it gets cold!!!!
One of the few occasions there I managed to rope the boy into coming for a walk!!I only rake her out once a day, evening time so I can let her off the lead and we do about 6km,I only know cos there's a signpost!!but she spends that time constantly running, chasing things in the woods, exploring she loves it!!!
Bella is our first pet and i can't imagine now life without her.we've been told they can live up to 15 years old so hopefully we've got a while left yet!!she's as fit as a fiddle, strong as an ox,she can easily drag me and I'm 20stone,the missus has no chance if Bella wants to go somewhere!!!
Yes,staffs have a bad name but only to the uneducated, people who know them always make a big fuss of her, often the older generation as they know how well behaved they are.kids love her too, they get a bit scared of the big teeth at first, but when they stroke her they know how gentle she is.if you feed her a treat or something, she just pulls it ever so gently off your palm, really cute...........until she sees a cat or bird!!!

They are both trying to be top dog. In my experience you need to be teaching them that your top dog.

Thats what i thought was happening but when they kick off i just raise my voice and they seperate and sit in discrace so they both know who the pack leader is , so its almost as if theyre fighting for 2nd place and we dont know how to stop that

no , 2 males ones 3 and the other is 1 . we think the youngest is trying to protect us from the older one for some reason or another. We are currently letting them interact for very short periods and only whilst we have hold of thier collars hopefully its a phase that will pass or its a case of trying to re home the youngest.

yours may well go through periods of being fine with each other and then from time to time get grief.staffs can be funny with other dogs tbh, they only seem to like humans.
the other thing is,hold the collars gives them a reason to go for each other, they can sense the tension and it puts them on edge so they think they have to protect themselves they can feel threatened in a situation where they are on a lead or held and cant defend themselves properly

the youngest is trying to knock the older one of the dominance order.and will kkep trying until the old one backs down normally. avalanche tries it with me from time to time.he get put down by the scruff and gets the hint that im still in charge.

Brad do they get lots of excercise?
Staff's need lots of excercise as they have bucket loads of energy.
Don't hold them on the collars as said above they will both feel threatened. If you can stop it just by shouting then allow them to see each other when you are close by. Also make sure they BOTH get plenty of attention. Staff's require lots of attention so one maybe trying to get more than the other.
