Default MK5 fiesta lower suspension arm replacment

hey all,

i'm gonna put new lower sus. arms on my mk5 fezza next week. as the bushes have been worn for a while now, but only just started to knock.

it's a pretty easy job (i think??), but just wanted to know if any nylock threaded nuts are used? because i don't want to have the old ones off and resalise that i've got to go out and buy a few nylock nuts.

thanks

cheers fellas, the pinch bolt should come with my arms, and the other 3 bolts i should get new ones. right thanks...

@sirbuynsellalot - you say "with the right tools" - since the new arms comes with new ball joints, i'm just gonna knock the old ones out or lever them out with a bar. by "right tools" do you mean ball joint separators?

Usually come with a new pinch bolt, nylock for the bottom ball joint only.
Grab a new trackrod nylock while your at the factors, only £1 but the drop link should come with a nylock anyway, just re use that,it'll be fine.

There's one bolt at the back that hold the rear bush in,nut and bolt through the front subframe and of course the bottom balljoint bolt.

It's a relatively easy job, from memory it's an 18mm nut on top of the bolt, which is 15mm iirc.sometimes the link bar nuts can turn, but not undo so you need to get a spanner in on it.

Guide-
Take off wheel
Remove track rod nut, hit hub to crack of track rod, donot hit the tread,
Undo anti roll bar drop link (only need to one side of car)
Undo ball joint pinch nut.
Using ball joint breaker or a few large spanners pop the hub of the ball joint
Now undo the two lower ARM bolts nd remove ARM

Fitting is reverse of removal

i live nowhere near any of these stores - i live in stockport - these are all down south - and postage would be expensive coz of weight. i'll just get some from remoco.

just had a look under the car - is it easier to take off the wheel surrounds (splash covers) to get the rear bolt?

Never had to take the drop link off or the track rod end to do a lower arm

Deffo get new bolts and nuts though for the lower arm front a rear bushes, especially if they're the original ones.
