Seems a waste but it is of a concern tbh,

Im just glad my factory ECU is still connected, no remap, and still thinks its running the engine, as i use it to run my clocks, and good luck to them finding the haltech ecu unit, they would have to take the dash out, and the wiring all looks factory,

also what about piggy back ecu units such as the Unichips etc, then dont alter the map on the ecu, they alter the signals going into the ecu to get the fuelling and ignition outputs needed, if wired in correctly and tucked away it would be almost impossible to tell they were there,

think they have a lot of thought to put into this before it becomes an effective means of keeping tabs on us,

 

when i done my testers course the examiner/instructor took a full day tryimng to explain about hotspots and differant patterns,
then had to squeeze e verything else in on the last day,
no big explanations about corosion etc he was more bothered about beam testeing lol

 

i still cant see the ecu thing coming in at all,
but i think vosa will introduce a check on the management light,
same as abs, check to make sure it comes on and goes out,
or fail if it stays on,
dont know how they'll work it, theres loads of cars come in to me that the light has been on for years,
but it drives fine so they wont pay to have it fixed,
but it does say its a visual check so only fails if i notice it(if you know what i mean)

 

doubt its anything to be worried about as we all know testers that look after us,,,,,, well all the cossie owners that are on the road that is pmsl

just think 10 years ago on greys it was acceptable to run 9% co and we all was shitting ourselves at the new "computer mot",,,,,, its not hard for them to "fix" the machine and there is a number of ways and i dont mean reving the arse off it in the carpark for 10 mins either
