Default WRX STI

I know this is probably not the best place to ask but never mind.

What they like ???

I am awere from past coments on here that they come fitted with chocolate Crankshafts and Pistons made from Marsh Mellows but what i need to know is what are they really like?

Anyone on here have/Had/Got one ??

What should i look out for etc ?

Whats good ? whats the one to get ?

Just Sold the Daily driver and need a Replacement and just wondering if i should move over to the dark side for daily dutys or not

Obviously, the one to get is the WRX STI or am i wrong

Drive it, make your own mind up. I had a 2003 STi and I loved it to bits. The engine noise, the handling as standard, its all good and the trackday fun I had was well worth it.

As for the chocolate pistons etc, its like anything else, take care of it and it'll be fine.

I think the problems they have with pistons and bottom end is the import ones are meant to run on really high octane fuel like 103 or something like that and people run them on standard 95 unleaded and they detonate and also standard oil pump is located near the turbo i think and always fucks up cylinder 3. best thing is to fit an uprated opil pump from the likes of roger clark motorsport or even graham goode do them i think. My mates gotr a t reg RB5 imprezza and its done nearly 100k miles and is showing no signs of wear. they like to eat air flow meters though. never used to be a fan till i drove my mates 300 bhp oine and its very lively. Im not keen on the engine noise personally unless its at fuill chat. If I ever had one for myslef Id fit a set of equal length headers. Makes such a differnce to me but im sure half the charm in the car is the noise to some people

well i got a classic sti and had it over 3 years and apart from smashing it up into a lampost and 2 gearboxes its been fine and it has been driven hard and done 2 ring trips and used as a daily driver too

though the fuel bill is a fucking joke, 200 miles to 60 quid if im gentle with it,,,, 70 if driven hard
