As above chaps. Any clues??
Having some weird issues with my Focarse.
The bulbs, relays and fuses are fine. Brake lights work, BUT i have some odd symptons-
Side lights front and rear don't work.
Seems my central locking is now delaying...open door and after a random peirod of time it with then unlock the other doors.
Dash lights on speedo doesn't work.
I'm more concenred about the side light issue as i need an MOT and it won't pass like that, and with dark nights coming it is hardly something i can ignore either.
It displayed these faults intermitantly...one day they would be fine, next they would be off, then on they would be on all the time....it has some weird ass things going on.
Any ideas? Or locations of earth points?
Taaaaa

Ahhh wounder mate, ND was a more chilled day for me than usual shows too.
Aye, there is usually one or two handbag threads a day and everyone calls everyone a cunt
Generally more interesting than the open male flirting on the RS board and people holding comments back so as not to offend

As above regarding inner front wing, there's two big multiplugs up there that all the engine bay/front end wiring connects through.I think that's where I'd be looking first.
Another quickie, remove the plugs to the front lights and see if the rears come on and vice versa, you may have something dragging one particular circuit down.

Ok mate, thanks i will try
When the problems started, i noticed that when i pressed my brake the drivers side dipped beam would come on....a classy look!
I swapped the headlights for some fresher ones and that problem is now gone, but the lack of speedo lights and sidelighs remains.

While you know i love verbally destroying you online (you make it easy for me) i actually wanna try and keep this thread juuuust slighty on topic so i have some leads to have a go at curing this annoying fault.
Lol....you are SUCH a gay and missed my "samehead" dig. *whispers* I was hinting that you have downs...
Aye, come round you quim, you know i like gettin' my cook on. But i'm getting the engine out of the Turbo saturday and have a wedding up North this week. Anytime after and i'll do my swaggering Gordon Ramsey bit again.

I got scared, then realised i misread the 'you know i like gettin my cook on' bit
I actually kept the thread on topic, well ish, as i would also like to know about the wanky central locking!!!
I think your harsh, saying i have downs is not fair, especially on people who have downs

Act like a dribbling spaz, get the label of a dribbling spaz.
ALWAYS bringing gay comments out, you're such a trainee Jimmy Somerville!!
Enough, be gone!
Fuck off, start your own thread, i don't have the necessary qualifications to "care" for you. Message me about the SBR meet, i'm 50/50. Tempted but maybe smashin' gash.

My GOD!
Fuck off!! You never ever shut up online or on Facewank, even when i tear you to bits...i think this is the nicest i have been to you in a while.
What part of stay on topic do you not understand. I won't make the customary sunday roast with all the trimmings next time you visit. I'll make you a four cheese pizza, only i'll go through the pain barrier and not wash for a week or two and make you a foreskin cheese pizza.
You'd lick the plate too! You bent, retarded, smegma eatin' clown.
Now. NO more replies from you on here.
Go go go go!

It could be because the Focus wiring loom has been abnormally extended to reach all the way to that massive 'boot thing' on the back, and by the time it's got there the signal is too weak to work! Just a thought.

Oh listen to cocky bollocks.
You get a bit of boost back in your mangled Estate and you're givin' it the biggun!

You know i've turned it around and it's lookin' a half respectable smoker. Least i don't have tucked in gimpy Jeremy Beadle wheel on the front of mine.

Nice one Rich, that's defo the place for me to start having a root.
Cheers to the rest of you...
...expect Tighty Whitey and Squiz the Spaz.

Deffo sounds an earth fault from what you've said.best way to fix it is to see what's dragging it down, causing the short.
Best way to do it is to start unplugging things sequentially.pull the plugs to the rear lights first, see if things start working again, you know what area the fault is then, remember with earths it really could be anywhere unfortunately, process of elimination im afraid.
If it turns out to be the rear lights, you could always solder in a cable to the earth terminal point, cut the original earth wire and run it into the boot floor somewhere, scrape the paint off for a good connection then just paint back over it.

Aye mate, it's some kinda earth thing, has to be. The lights work on the brake lights, but not when you turn the lights on and it was a bit temperamental, blew a few fuses, then...nothing.
Changed all fuses and relays, no issues with them since but no lights. I'll get onto the earths near the fuse box and what you mentioned in the arches cause i have gone over the boot several times, it has to be elsewhere.
Cheers

I hope your not into necrophilia
you got the wiring diagrams???
you traced the power supply to ensure youve got 12V where you should have?? A good way is take the bulbs out and check for 12v at each bulb holder and a clean earth so you can see if its the wiring from relay to bulb. if alls fine there then its the earth circuit.
you got any gay LED bulbs?? sometimes they are wired wrong and short things out.
