Hello mate. Suffering from lack of time to work on it at the moment!
Sadly im on 5 day weeks at the moment a couple of hundred miles from home so only getting a few hours a weekend by the time I do my magazine work etc.
Plus we've just reshelled my mrs clio into a less rusty shell and have covereted it to widetrack and done a few other bits and pieces so thats been eating into my time as well.
Its very nearly there now in terms of being ready to start mapping on the saab lump.
Engine is in and fires up, had a couple of dramas this week with the inlet manifold not matching the head very well on some of the waterways and Ive had to start again on the wiring and the plumbing etc as its not very similar to the old engine, but it does start on the button now and the clutch is all working etc and so are the gears.
So only really a few finishing bits and pieces and its ready to go, just a case of getting the time to do it.
Just bought this clio shell:
So thats likely to distract me for a while, but Nova should definately be ready for combe in april
Nova looks like this currently:
So at least its essentially a car again with just a few things to sort out, rather than feeling like a massive long drawn out project!

deadly serious, this is a graph of whp and weight that shows terminal speed and et (et determined by 60ft) as used by robbie ward of RIPS so im confident its fairly close to being realistic
the ets are absolute optimum on a drag set up but the terminal and weight gives indication of whp.

It's one thing when people back calculate their flywheel rr figure from a wheel one but to quote the power of your car going on someone's table of terminal speeds is just nuts

I'm not sure how to say this...but you're stark raving bonkers and taking this 1/4 mile thing waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too far

TBH Choppy I would trust Terminals and car weights over a lot of the rollers I see people using!
Its a pretty good approximation.
Scooby Slayer, if the new pikey cheap engine can manage to match on high boost what the old mega money engine made on low boost (457bhp) I'll be over the moon with it, at that power the car was fantastic fun to drive, the higher boost setting was only any good in a straight line TBH and even then in small doses so not likely to be much use on track.
I dont see why I cant get 450 out of it, even on the standard very mild cams. Ive got a GT35R on there after all.
Its a pretty good approximation.

Might go from a T34 to a GT3071 internal gate at some point (aka a "cossierich spec" turbo as they are now known as he was the first person I got one for) but other than that nothing really, I really like it as it is, and even on the T34 its good fun.
Totally different car to the nova, much more tail happy and also I just like crusing about in it listening to music and things like that which I cant in the nova as it doesnt have a radio.

Ive been in a few mate yeah, 711bhp one at 194mph at brunters on a performance ford shoot which I also had a drive of (although not really to its full potential sadly as roads were busy) and ive been in hadlands escos, and mike rainbirds, and driven porkies old 3 door and doug stirlings 500bhp+ one etc and loads of others not off this forum, but TBH as a rwd road car which is what my car is, I dont see the point in that much power, you are just doing speeds that there isnt any point doing on the road, and I dont want mine as a trackday car as ive got several other cars for that anyway.
Im really happy with it just as it is TBH mate, other than talking about it is now making me wish I was driving about in it rather than at work hundres of miles away, must make sure I drag it out next year, ive only been with my current mrs for under a year so she hasnt even had a go in it yet, lol
