Mclaren interview!!
Well my course is nearly over, got about another 6weeks and gotta look for jobs soon but.................
My teacher has contacts with Mclaren in Woking where they spray the F1 cars and the new SLR and has only got me an interview with them!!!
Going next fri for the interview and hopefully gonna get a 2 week assesment after then they decide if they will take me on or not, scary stuff!!!! Its basically spraying the SLRs as their all hand sprayed.
Would mean moving thou if i did get it as Woking is a proper mission from Brighton
but will see what happens!!!

Tony Mate, My Bro works there building the SLRs !
The building is amazing, all glass bays that you can see through and see whats going on, Its cleaner than a fookin hospital inside and they got a Helcopter pad there :lol
He quite often sees the F1 drivers wandering about and gets all the celebs coming down to pick up their new cars!

Cheers peeps, as said will see how it goes, looks like the 2week assesment is goin ahead on the 14th if all goes ok next fri.
Yea heard bout the company car scheme, be nice to have a merc as a daily driver instead of an unreliable XR2i

Looks like they want painters anyway. Have you ever painted on Carbon Fibre though?

Lol Tony.....I have already wished you good luck but I will again, (seeing as though when you originally mentioned it I had my head stuck in a glacial process essay and couldnt muster up much more than 'cool well done'....)

2 week assesment is going ahead, got a letter thru earlier!!! Have to sign an official secrets act
Even if i dont get a job out if it the experiance will be well worth it

Oh and what are the hours like? I always think those companies do 0530 till 2330 7 days a week or something stupid. PMSL at "Official Secrets Act" Its only paint spraying

mate be careful .2 friends of mine who work for volkswagen spraying in grimsby got jobs after an interview with mclaren both are highly trained .they got a flat to rent in london .they to wre told they would be working on the top cars when they got there they were shown to an outbuilding and for the week all they did was rub down minor parts from other cars .they were not even given overalls etc.they are now back home and luckily in their old jobs

Cheers Rich forgot she worked there will have to have a word, not spoken 2 her in ages!! Will find out hours etc when i go to the interview fri........
Cheers for the advice, thats why im going for the 2 week assesment thingy as i'll find out more then and luckly its only about 30mins from my college so dont have to rent or anything like that at mo!!
Thats the only downside thou as i wouldnt expect them to put u striaght onto the actual cars etc. Especially someone who's just finishing college!! The idea of me going now which im still enrolled at college is so its more of an experiance thing that anything!!!
But they deff are looking for full time sprayers now as most they use are agency and cost too much, plus my teacher having contacts there and dealing with them should help.
