It is a BIG flaw especiallly when you consider all other phones can do it !
I suspect its more like a future sales gimmick as they run out of ideas of a new version of the iphone every year and all you suckers buy one !

I seem to remember things that apple recently claimed/implied only they can do over the last few years.....

Video recording
MMS Picture messages
Video Calling

The last one being an advert on TV saying "ONLY ON IPHONE"

You say ... Why not use email and mms ? ... well I quite often take pictures and want to send them to another phone but dont want to pay for it or have no signal and bluetooth is a convenient transfer method that apple typically added restrictions on an system that was intended to be open and FREE to use !

TBH I have never felt the need to bluetooth pictures from one phone to another anyway, and certainly never so urgently that it cant possibly be MMS'ed instead, lol

Yeah my alarms never went off.

Fortunately woke up 25mins after the alarm would have woke me so i was OK, if a wee bit rushed!

Likewise. But if it's a feature you feel is vital, as Simon obviously does, then I suppose I can see why it's an issue.

I've never had a picture i couldn't MMS, Email, send via WhatsApp, put on Photobucket, or upload to Flickr via my phone, so i can't say the lack of Bluetooth has ever been a problem for me.

I never had a problem with my alarm going off this morning.
As for Bluetooth, not had the need to use it in 6 months of having my Iphone. I probably have not used bluetooth for well over a year.

Dropped calls? not had a problem with that either
battery life? yes its shite, but we all know that anyway

No one's saying they're invunerable, but when was the last time you read about a Mac getting one? In the last 12 years that I've been using Macs i've never once had any kind of firewall, nor virus software, and I've never had a virus.

I sounded like he was saying they are, and Windows is the only OS that can get them. Although, I may have misunderstood him, due to the poor wording...

what i can't understand is that if you put the clocks back, the alarm will ring an hour early, yet everyone is saying they are rining late?

is this swine flu and getting a week off for free all over again

How fucking stupid are you?

The alarm stuck at the hour later for whatever reason when the clocks went back.

And to sort it for now you have to disable the repeat alarm and set it every night for the following morning.

Of course it is.

Although it doesn't list in the Oxford English dictionary, its derivation is from the bastardisation of a regular noun, and it is in effect a slang term, it still qualifies due to the de facto nature of it being recognisable in modern usage.

A quick google would show it listed in Merriam Webster, which should we be being pedantic, is plenty enough to justify its qualification, even in this country.

As Connery once said, "Here endeth the lesson".

I've never had any problems with my iPhone, nor has any of my mates, around 20 of them with iPhones. The problem was not a fact which the BBC reported about the new iPhone 4. Where it drops signal when you hold it, was due to a fault with the iPhone arial. I think your wife friends are clearly exspecting the phone to work like clock work. Yeah sometimes they crash on a odd occasion or crap signal because of the provider!

There a good phone, make calls fine recive calls and already has a good advance spell checker/pre spell. I spend less on my computor and more on my iPhone as it allows me to keep upto date with things like eBay and other ways of buying products or advice when needed, which means alot more time spent on my car

you can't have an opinion Christian, it's like a non driver/back seat driver who has not yet passed his test.. Moaning and trying to tell you the law when clearly wrong. Once you own one or have it for more than 3 months come back.

Relating to the iPhone update on the clock, had no problems was set for 7am Sunday morning and went off just fine, ready for work and off out the door on time.

Thanks,

Minor inconvenience compared to my other phone which is an old nokia and lasts days but a small price to pay for the extra functionality of the iPhone.

My issues with it are more around the fact everything is so tied down and commericalised etc

what case doubles the batt life mate?! It for the 4 or just 3s?!

Didnt have any probs with mine either alarm went off fine?!

I have a jail broken iPad. Do I need to install an app to allow flash?

Mine never went off again this morning!!!

Deleted all my weekday alarms last night and reset them, woke up this morning 5 mins before they were due to go off, lay in bed waiting and they never went off!

16GB 3GS btw. Pain in the arse.

It seems if you set an alarm for ex, 2mins time from now, it will work, but if you set it to go off "mon/tue/wed/thu" or whatever... it will go off an hour late.

Set it as a one off alarm, goes off just fine.

Got the same phone a d not had any probelms with it going off mate, biggest pain in the arse for me though is that you can't delete old alarms, you can only turn them off or change the hours, unless that's just me

LOL at people getting caught out twice with the alarm problem, just use something else? Or perhaps set it to go off during the day as a test if it's working properly before relying on it to wake up?

Only problem I have had with my Iphone 4 is that it shut down completely and I had to do the reset procedure to get it back on, apart from that I think they are brilliant and wouldn't be without one

That's what I used to do and mine never went off at all, twice. After that I use something else as an alarm, I can't trust the iPhone alarm as I can't afford to be late for work
