bloody tailgate on my 3dr is knocking .tried a few things but not worked .any advise please people

 

Is anyone shut in the boot?

 

When you say knocking, do you mean the tailgate against the body? or the whaletail knocking on the tailgate?

really not sure were its coming from.seems to be coming from passenger side

 

Very common for the rubber bumps to wear each side where the tailgate closes onto, temporarily pack these out by stuffing a rag on top of each one and closing the tailgate, go for a drive if noise gone, take off each bump by drilling rivetts out, make a 3mm-5mm backing part same shape from ply etc then rivett back on job done, did this to my 4i for 100% cure.

nothing smells sweeter than the odour of chloroform

 

only prob is ive got a 3dr they escape far to easy

 

They should have more respect, an feel honoured to be kidnapped in a cossie, and stay there!!

have tried to move your spoiler by hand? If it moved then that may well be your problem

 

does the spoiler have a gasket inbetween the spoiler and boot like the escos?
