MK4 Escort - Lost key
Meant to be getting a MK4 Escort off a mate tonight but he's lost the key - Will a locksmith be able to make a key up, or is it easier to just somehow get in it, hotwire it then get a new lockset? Any help please gents because I'm meant to be picking it up ASAP

If you're feeling fruity, you can easily take the lock apart. Each of the cams are numbered inside and if you write down the numbers in order you can then go to a locksmith and get it cut.
I have recently re-coded a few tibbie locks and it's surprisingly easy.

As said some of the door locks have the number stamped on them.
Dead easy to get into anyway without key, and even easier to start, steering lock can be made "unlocked" easy, bit fiddly but causes zero damage so when key is sorted it still woks perfect.

Cheers guys
Tabetha, any info on that? Been too busy to get it sorted and the car needs moving tonight, was going to get in and get a lock out to take to a locksmith but haven't got enough time to do that so going to have to get in it, do the steering lock and start it... Would prefer to not do any damage because it's so mint!
