Default intercooler; paint or powder coat?

My intercooler is looking a bit past its sell by date (2xcossie cooler welded together). Whats best for them, just paint or can they be coated. Im thinking the powder wont help the cooling too much?? Any other option?

Paint all day long as powdercoat chips easily - only need to use a matt black with an acid etch primer and job done - looks great when finished.

Just did one for my bro's Focus RS Mk2 and looks the bollox

Rub it down with a green scotch pad, acid etch prime it them a few coats off matt black. Just don't go too heavy on the core. I prefer a black cooler.
